The challenge at a new to me challenge blog is shades of purple. I can do purple and like it too! And in my continued commitment to use patterned paper, I layered a piece of Recollections Pretty In Ink paper pad to a light purple card base. My next shade of purple is a deeper shade and I created a frame and embossing the center Spellbinder’s Classic Large Ovals with Cuttlebug’s Swiss Dots embossing folder. Neutrals are allowed in this challenge so I die cut SimonSaysStamp’s Daisy stem twice for the front of my card. And adding one more shade of purple stamped the sentiment from Gina K Designs Stenciled Spring stamp set in VersaFine Clair black ink.
I would have preferred that the sentiment was stamped and white heat embossed however the Recollections heavy weight cardstock discolored as it was heated so stamped in black it is.
Dies R Us Challenge #162 is an “anything goes + a metal die from any company sold in their store = Spellbinders Large Classic Ovals to meet that challenge.
After cleaning up and clearing 29″ of snow for the last two days, it was a pleasure to use a daisy on my card today. Thanks for stopping in to take a peek.
Yep! Definitely purples! Such a pretty card, Gayle!
Very nice card! Sorry – we were 80+ today!
What a fun card. I love your purples and the fun design. I like the black sentiment, as well. It may not be the same color, but that makes it stand out.
So pretty, I really like the way you cut the oval to leave the background paper show through. Thank you for joining in our challenge at Make the Cards!
I love your white daisy on all that beautiful purple! And your embossed oval set in the larger oval cut-out looks great! Love the background paper you used as well.
29 inches – yikes!! By the way, you look great in your new photo!
Beautiful card! Love the purples you used and the gorgeous flower. I have never seen 29 inches of snow! We cringe at 5 inches.
Sure turned out between you liking the color and you finding ways to use pp. White silhouette is striking.
Beautiful!! Purple is my favorite color. On the oval I really like how you used pp for the frame and embossed the center. The purple and white makes me think of Easter. 29″ of snow???? Yuk!
lovely design and perfectly purple which as you know is my favorite colour. Great use of PP and frame. I love the white flower on top of the colour.
Great combination of papers and embossing to create texture and dimension. Thanks for joining us at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog. We hope to see your designs in future challenges.
