From 4 to 40

Celebrating our baby’s 40th Birthday! Yikes, how did that happen and when did he get so old!! This sweet photo was when our Will was 4 years old and to think in another week he will be 40 makes me really wonder where the time has gone. I used the Spellbinder’s kalidescope plaid die to create the panels which fit perfectly on a gate fold card and the word die cut is an unknown. I’m loving this card almost as much as our son.

And since Lisa K turned me onto Krafty Al, I have been trying to use those patterned paper pads that I have accumulated over time. Those buy one get 2 just get me every time. So this 5×7 card for our granddaughter is simple but I am happy with the layering.

I’d be happy to cut some kalidescope plaids if anyone wants them. Just let me know the colors of the layers.

Quite cold here today so I’m staying put and working on Valentine’s.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek.

  1. Wonderful colors and design for your son’s card. His picture is the absolute perfect touch. They do seem to go from 4 to 40 in the blink of an eye, but we don’t age that fast. 😉
The card for your granddaughter is a perfect girly Valentine. Love the touch of gold.

    1. Love your son’s card! It’s amazing that suddenly they are 40 – 50+! Your granddaughter’s card is so sweet! I’m also going to try to start using up the tons of pp I have!

  2. You found the best pic for this creation. He looks so old for 4. That is terrific you are un-hording your pp stash. Ever since you claimed to be a pp-holic I was hoping you could reverse the calamity. But than again one can NEVER have too much pp, IMO

  3. Your son’s card is awesome. The picture is a perfect touch. Your granddaughter’s card is lovely. I’ve been trying to use my stash of PP, but I keep seeing new packs that I want.

  4. Love the picture of “young Will” on his card – so cute! The kalidescope plaid panels look great, and I love the colors you chose. Your granddaughter’s card came out great, too! I have quite a bit of paper I should be using as well…

  5. Gayle, these are both great cards! I love the one for your son’s birthday. I saw those dies, yesterday and couldn’t figure out why you would want such a fun background so small, but this is a perfect example of why! Your card for your granddaughter is sweet, too. Love the layers and your fun papers.

  6. What a super card for your son. The colours and the photo make it really special. I like the one for your granddaughter too. Not having any kids means I don’t notice my own age most of the time. Hitting the big 70 later in the year.
