Sharing a few cards

During February, I participated in very few challenges. I did take part in the MISTI challenge at Split Coast Stampers. The idea was to make a “Galentine” card. I chose to make memory cards for my sisters with one of Mom’s stamp sets. Mom always loved roses in any form, so she had several rose stamp sets. The stamp set for these cards uses Graceful Garden from Stampin’ Up. The set can be found in the 2017 – 2018 catalog. I am not sure what year it retired.

Roses in Red

The layout came from Tami White in a video. I used a mixture of SU Watercolor pencils and Prismacolor WC pencils which I blended with a blender pen, rather than water. I added white with a white gel pen. The black dots are using dots from a Maymay Made It set that is a Christmas set. In the set it is for snow and comes with a snowman, but I needed black dots and this is what was easily found. On the blue card there is more sparkle. I used a sparkle pen, thumping it against another marker, which spread sparkle all over. Use a box or something to contain it and it works much better for clean up. I have three sisters and had a purple one, but didn’t photograph it. It was the same layout.

My sisters loved receiving their memory cards, even if I didn’t get them mailed before Valentine’s Day. Thanks for looking.

    1. Two of my sisters sent me e-mails letting me know they love them. The other one is too busy with little girls, so I really do not hear much from her.

  1. Lisa, these are beautiful and I love that you did the same layout in 3 different colors. Plus, you decorated the envelopes. I imagine your sisters really loved them. So nice to pay tribute to your mom for your sisters.

    1. Thanks! Mom sent each of us a card for most holidays. Valentine’s Day was always special receiving a card from Mom. She even shopped for a card for my daughter when we were visiting very close, before she began cardmaking. My sisters really enjoyed receiving the cards.

  2. Beautiful cards Lisa and glad that your sisters liked them. Mine would like them too. I love the colouring and the colours.

    1. Thanks! These were enjoyable to color and Tami showed exactly how she colored and where she placed the white marks. I simply colored with her and embellished a bit differently.
