Playing along with the As You See It Challenge #219 Sketch Challenge – Hive:

Normally I would follow the sketch to the “T” but am using a little artistic license or just going rogue today. My “hive” is created with the die cut letter HI but I believe the rest of the card fits the sketch. (Card #1 with a bee hive was a fail but I may send it one of the grandkids anyway. Back to business — The letter dies are Momenta, my bee and sentiment are from GKD’s Cute As A Bug stamp set, some markers and colored pencils, Nuvo Glitter Gloss and Ranger Glossy Accents for the wings, GKD patterned paper and cardstock and Cuttlebug Honeycomb embossing folder.
Very cute!
Thanks, Diana, I appreciate your comments.
Cute card. I think you followed the sketch quite well even with the artistic license on the hive. I’ve seen cards for sketch challenges when you couldn’t even see evidence they’d used a sketch.
Thanks for the vote of confidence, Judy, I thought it would be ok. I like challenges but also like to be able to send the challenge card to someone. My grandkids will be getting a lot of cute mail…LOL
Rogue is not a word I would use to describe anything coming out of your craft room. Your ability to interprute the sketch is spot on. I adore how the dot s fit the rest of your design.
Haha…you are right, Bonnie, I definitely am not a rebel or a rogue no matter how hard I try at times. Thanks for your support and comments.
You did a great job! The sketch should be a starting point, but not followed to the T. I seem to follow to the T, though, as it makes it easy not to think. I love how you created your “hive” with the letters. Your grandchildren will love the hive that was a fail, even if you got frustrated.
I know what you mean, Lisa, I like sketches as the work is done and all I need to do is come up with some stamps. The other one was an actual beehive with bees floating around. It was ok and I’ll use it. Thanks for your support.
Gayle, this is adorable and close enough to the sketch to work perfectly.
I really like your creative interpretation of the sketch! Your bee is adorable and the bright yellow adds to the sense of fun and cheer. Thank you for joining us again at As You See It. And I’ll bet your hive ‘fail’ was still really good!
Thanks, Jan, I did take another look at my fail and decided it’s ok to send out to one of the grands. Thanks for a fun challenge.
Cute, cute, cute!!! You’re not a rogue, you’re showing your artistic creativity
Love the way you interpreted the “hive”! It’s all open to interpretation in my book! What a sweet, happy card, you had me at the BEE! Thanks for sharing this with us at As You See It this week!
Oh, Gayle, you rebel, you! I love your artistic interpretation of the sketch! It totally works! And the colours are perfect for a ‘Hive’ challenge! And, of course, Hive starts with an H! Thanks for playing along this week with As You See It Challenges!
Gayle this is such a clever way way to interpret the sketch – love the letters and your sweet bee! Thanks for playing along with us over at As You See It for our current challenge!
I agree with all the comments. You did such a great job interpreting the sketch and still allowing your own creativity to flow. It is a wonderful card.
