This is the last card I made for this month’s MISTI challenge at Split Coast Stampers. I learned from Sandy Allnock that Blueprint Sketch fit the Pantone Classic Blue color of the year, and I finally purchased a pad this week. Today I was able to ink blend with it.
The stamp set used is Flowering Flourishes by Stampin Up, released in 2012. I know my Mom used this set a lot, as I remember seeing it on several cards. This was my first time inking it up. I used Versamark and white embossing powder, then began ink blending. I spritzed a bit of water after finishing ink blending and made those water droplets. I think this could get addictive.
The Hello was die cut in fun foam for dimension, white cardstock, then GKD Blue Denim cardstock. I layered the pieces to look like a shadow image. I added a few gems from Studio Katia.
I enjoyed making this card. It has been an enjoyable month seeing the blue all over and knowing that was the color of the year. I see that blue in my dishes, on product boxes, and fabric.
I am entering this card in Simon Says Stamp: https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-anything-goes-69/
Thanks for looking!
Just beautiful, Lisa! Love the background!
Thanks! I haven’t ink blended or used emboss resist in a long time. I forgot how easy it was to make a card with these techniques.
It does deserve the color of the year. I love Sandy!
I wrote all of the item numbers and colors she chose. They have been fun to use.
Gorgeous card and I love Blueprint sketch and use it often. those flourishes are really pretty.
Lovely. I like the flourishes with the blue. Great idea to use fun foam behind the die cut sentiment instead of cutting it several times for dimension.
Lisa, this is beautiful! Great job on it. The water droplets are a great accent.
This is so beautiful Lisa. The water droplets are a perfect touch.
Such a pretty background stamp and sponging…I do love the “in-color”..
