Balloon Wreath Birthday

This card was created for the Double D Challenge and the MISTI challenge at Split Coast Stampers. I was so happy to see the mood board for the Double D Challenge with hot air balloons. I have a few sets of hot air balloons and always enjoy using them. This time, I used a fun set from Stampin Up called Lift Me Up.

I used the Gina K Designs Wreath Builder template for my wreath. Colors used are Peach Bellini, Blue Denim with matching paper from Gina K Designs, and Mint Macaron with matching paper from Stampin Up. I flicked a bit of sparkle, well a lot of sparkle with a Crafter’s Companion Clear Sparkle Pen. I have seen this done by hitting the sparkle pen against a marker. It leaves a lot of sparkle! I did spread sparkle on the banners as one cannot have too much sparkle. I have a person in mind to receive this card and I am sure the sparkle will bring a smile to her face.

  1. Love this – great way to use the hot air balloon! They are having a hot air evening balloon glow festival here in Maricopa this weekend – should be lots of fun!

  2. Wow – this is an awesome design Lisa. Who would have thought of doing a wreath with hot air balloons. I love this card and I like the colours you’ve used a lot. It is fabulous.

    1. Thanks Johanna. I saw something similar on Split Coast where they used the Stampartus. I struggled with what to add to the center then saw another idea on Pinterest. Always nice to find those ideas!

  3. Very cool and creative card using the wreath builder template for your hot air balloons. Love the design on those balloons.

  4. Love your balloon wreath. Great color scheme. Riding in a hot air balloon is on my bucket list, but I don’t want to ride in one that’s upside down. And now I’m singing “Up Up and Away” by the Fifth Dimension.
