Challenge at ModSquadChallenge is to create your own patterned paper background. I used GKD’s Pretty Patterns by Melanie Muenchinger for my “zig-zag” background inked with Powder Blue (top and bottom section) in and then the middle in Tranquil teal GKD ink. Using the Scor-Buddy, I embossed and debossed the points of the chevron so IRL it show more dimension. The sentiment is also a GKD stamp from Happy Birthday to You set stamped in navy onto the SSS Burst Die** and then sprayed with Hero Arts white iridescent shimmer spray. This one is for my son-in-law’s birthday.
**This die was very difficult to cut out. I used a metal plate and ran it through my big shot maybe four times and it still did not completely cut out completely. I’m going to try again before contacting SSS to find out if they had any other issues with this die. If anyone has any cutting tips, please share.
Just WOW!
Thanks Diana. It’s fun to pull out some of those older stamps and thank goodness for the Misti.
Love this kind of background. Your center looks spectacular even if you had trouble cutting that die.
Thanks, Lisa, it’s a great die but was difficult to cut.
Oh the details. You are finding your groove for making statements now.
Thanks Bonnie. I appreciate your support.
Gayle, this is fantastic! I can imagine how it looks IRL with the embossing emphasizing the chevrons. Sorry, no tips on the die cutting, as it’s a new die. You might try putting wax or parchment paper between the card and the die, but I don’t know if that will really help much.
Thanks for the tip and the support, Golda. It cut a little better on a thinner cardstock but seems to have issues.
AMAZING!!! All the detail, WOW!
Thanks so much, Gerry, I was hoping for a different look.
This is gorgeous Gayle. Love it all. As to the die – I have found that if my plates are the slightest bit warped some complicated dies don’t cut well. To get around this I turn the piece and run it through again and do this several times. It seems to help.
Thanks, Johanna, I guess it may be time to replace those plates again. They do get a work out. I repositioned and flipped the die on a second try it helped a little. Thanks for your support.
Wonderful card, LOVE the “burst” design and those colors are perfect. Great take on the challenge, thank you so much for participating this week at the Mod Squad Challenge
