As You See It #212 Color Me Quickly – Blue
This took me a little over 7 minutes. When first got the Poinsettia background by Simon Says Stamp, I stamped and embossed a bunch of backgrounds to use for Christmas cards. This was stamped Ocean Mist embossed with silver. I trimmed the 6” square panel using a die from Matting Basics B by Spellbinders. The card base is Blue Denim trimmed 4 ¼” x 11” scored at 5½”. I just happened to have a scrap that was the right size for the sentiment from Holiday Greetings Mix 1 by Simon Says and used MISTI to get it centered. That was also embossed in silver and mounted with foam tape for dimension. Since I still had a couple of minutes to spare, I cut an Ivory panel for the inside, stamped with a sentiment from Holiday Greetings Mix 1 in Denim Blue.
Heating embossing under 7 minutes is really cooking with gas.
It was like playing the old TV game from the 50s – Beat the Clock
Lovely card! Glad you made it to fit the challenge.
Beautiful card!
Wow — great card with the embossed background and sentiment and in 7 minutes, too. You did beat the clock…LOL.
Beautiful card. Under 7 minutes?? very impressive.
The poinsettia background makes for a lovely Christmas card. Embossing in a speed challenge is adventurous indeed, so well done you for getting it done in the time. The one time I did it, I ran right to the last second! Thank you for joining in our speed challenge at As You See It.
I am totally impressed with how quickly you got it done. It’s a great card and I love that you had a scrap that was just the right size for the sentiment.
I’m impressed too. Beautiful results, you made the challenge and got a great card done.
What an impressive background you created Judy and your poinsettias look really great in a non-traditional silver and blue combo. Well done on managing to heat emboss in the time too! Thanks for taking on our speed challenge over at As You See It this week!
Living on the edge – embossing a whole background for a speed challenge. It looks lovely though so the risk paid off! Thanks for getting your adrenaline running with our speed challenge at As You See It Challenges.
