This card will be entered into the Double D Challenge to feature a Silhouette. I masked off an area on my white cardstock with purple tape ( which pulled up some of my cardstock) and using Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet and Twisted Citron ink sponged a background for my GKD Hello Sunshine stamp. The sentiment from the same stamp set was inked in Versafine Onyx Black. I added some self adhesive gems, The layering cardstock was created by using the salty ocean ink and mounting all on GKD’s black cardstock. My mix of the twisted citron and wilted violet looks a little muddy so hopefully I’ll remember not to sponge those two next to each other. Also learned or should have remembered is that the distress ink takes longer to dry so my image smeared a little which I covered up with the ribbon. Lessons Learned!!
I love this card and chuckled at your comment on the smear. That happens to me a lot. Purple tape does sometimes damage the paper and the comment at it being a bit muddy is all part of learning. That said I didn’t see that it is muddy probably the ribbon hides it but it isn’t really noticeable on the photo.
Looks great! Can’t see any mistakes at all.
Pretty sponged colors, love how you masked it off. Perfect silhouette image for our Challenge. The ribbon hides your secret! Thanks so much for playing along with us at The Double D, Silhouettes Challenge, Donna, DT Member.
Beautiful!
Beautiful!! and I don’t see any mistakes. Love the colors.
Blends perfectly from this side of the computer and no smears just gorgeous ribbon.
Gayle, this is beautiful. Thanks for sharing what you learned, too. Though you did a great job hiding it, so we wouldn’t have known.
Sorry, this is Golda. For some reason, my phone refused to show I was logged in.
This is FABULOUS! LOVE your design with that beautiful sponged panel! What a great idea! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Double D ‘Silhouette’ challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.
