Sunflower Slimline

I have been slowly coloring this image for a few weeks. I was slow due to birthdays happening in my family, so this had to take a back seat for a while. I finally finished a card with the image and will share it today.

For this card I use a Simon Says Stamp called Sunflower Garden. This is a huge stamp. I think it is a 6 X 8 inch stamp. I cut my image down and kept the best pieces, placing them on a slimline sized card. The cardstock layers and cardbase are using paper from My Favorite Things. I have no idea what the color names are; I purchased an assortment a few years ago. I used Spectrum Noir markers to color the image. I had around 5 markers out to color with, but didn’t write the names down.

August is winding down. Our weather has cooled down making it feel like fall. Thanks for stopping by and sharing in my card. I will be posting this to the challenge blog from Splitcoast Stampers. We have reach the maximum number of posts per our blog.

Hello Sunshine

I love sunflowers. I own many sunflower stamps and some even have matching dies. Today I used Newton’s Nook Hello Sunshine stamp set.

These sunflowers are enjoyable to color. I used a few Spectrum Noir markers to color and then outlined the image with a Copic Warm Gray marker. I am on a quest to use more of my patterned paper and this one came from Gina K Designs. The card base is from The Stamps of Life.

The Double D Challenge has the perfect challenge for this card: https://daranddiane.blogspot.com/2023/08/sunflowers.html

Our weather is totally August in MO right now. I will be inside with the humidity coming in at 94% right now. More time to create sunflower designs, however, first is a birthday card to complete. DD1’s birthday is quickly approaching and I do not want it to be last minute, like DD2’s was.

Sunflower Fun

September is quickly approaching and I always think of sunflowers in September. The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge is all about Sunflowers.

https://thesisterhoodofcrafters.blogspot.com/2022/08/sunflowers.html

I used the August 2021 set from Hero Arts for the sunflowers. This was colored with the stencils and the ink that came in the kit. The background is a Stampin Up set. I used Gina K Designs Fresh Asparagus cardstock and matching ink on the background.

MSC Pocket Full of Sunshine

I created a card using Gina K Designs, Pocket Full of Shine Digital Stamp which fits several challenges.

Since this image is digital and I wanted dimension, I colored and fussy cut the pocket and flower and popped them up with foam tape. I used alcohol markers for all each image. I even used blue for the leaves and stem. The colored cardstock is Gina K Designs and the white is Hammermill. I wish I could send this to someone in the Ukraine, but sending to someone here in the US will have to do.

Sunflower

Sometimes I sit down and create a card with one idea in mind and a specific place for posting, then all sorts of challenges fit the same idea. That happened with this card.

Originally I started creating a card for the Use Your Stash challenge at Splitcoast Stampers that I participate in each month. This month’s theme is to create something that begins with S for September. I decided to use sunflowers. Then I added sunshine with the greeting and the stencil. It is one layer and is CAS, so it worked well with the AAA challenge. The stencil is perfect for the Sisterhood of Crafters challenge as well as the Hero Arts Stay Crafty challenge.

The stamp set used is Newtons Nook’s Sunflower Days. The stencil is from Fun Stampers Journey called Sunrays. I used Lawn Fawn Sunflower ink to blend over the stencil. I colored the sunflowers alcohol ink markers and masked before stenciling. I masked the greeting also.

It has been a long time since I have made a one-layer card and especially one that is Clean and Simple. It was fun to create.

Sunflower Wreath

I created a card using 6 sunflowers for the Just Us Girls challenge.

http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2021/09/just-us-girls-challenge-600-word-week.html

I used the Arrange a Wreath stamp and die set from Stampin’Up for this card. The sunflowers were created with Bumblebee cardstock and the edges inked with matching ink. The wreath is in brown tones, Crumb Cake and Early Expresso also from SU. The door was created using patterned paper from Gina K Designs and it needed a knob, so that came from Holiday Frame Filler set also by GKD.

Congratulations on reaching 600 challenges! It was fun to create a card with six of something.
