Apple Fun Fold

I spent time coloring and creating a fun fold using the Apple Harvest Stamp set. I saw this idea on Pinterest and found it interesting, so I went to the website. Stamping Amore is the person who created the original card I used for inspiration. I used the same stamp and die set, but colored mine differently and used paper that I had.

This card is the standing position so you can see how the pieces are laid out. The front square is attached with black foam squares in the center, where it will not close the panel.

This shows the card laying and all open.

The final photo shows the card closed. It has two basic folds at 4 1/4 and 1 1/4. Then there are several layers of patterned paper making it look like it has several folds.

I used a red card base that was cut and laying close by. The white is Stampin Up Basic White. The checked pattern is from a summer pack by Echo Park. The black plaid/stripe is from another set by Carta Bella.

This will be entered in the Cardz 4 Galz: #402 More than One Fold challenge. http://cardz4galz.blogspot.com/2023/06/202-more-than-one-fold.html

I enjoyed creating this card. I like fun folds, so finding a new one is always right up my alley.

Guest Designing Color Challenges

I have been guest designing for the color challenges each Tuesday in June, at Splitcoast Stampers. I have enjoyed creating each card using specific colors.

CC951 used the colors Berry Burst, Shaded Spruce, and Lemon Lolly with the dessert of flowers. I used Berry Burst for the brick wall and the center flower. Shaded spruce was used on each flower stem. I do not own Lemon Lolly, so I substituted Gina K Designs Lemon Drop. I added neutrals of Misty Moonlight for the sky and Crumb Cake for the top of my fence and a background layer. The flowers are from the Art Gallery set.

CC952 had colors of Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, and Granny Apple Green. The dessert was using a die cut or punch. My cupcake is a triplets die designed by Stephanie Bernard for Sizzix, very retired. I found the greeting in a Gina K Designs set along with the stars. The small greeting is from a SU set. This was fun to create.

CC953 used the colors Balmy Blue, Azure Afternoon, and Sweet Sorbet with the dessert of added a favorite green. I used a mixture of Lawn Fawn Jalapeño and Freshly Cut Grass for my leaves. I used the stamp set Fresh Cut Flowers with coordinating dies for my flower. The hello is from a My Favorite Things set. I ran the Azure Afternoon rectangle layers through the Subtle embossing folder as they needed a bit of texture. I am quite happy with this card.

CC954 uses the colors Blueberry Bushel, Real Red, and white with a dessert of patriotic. My flag card uses Stamp Simply Grand Old Flag set. I added stars to the background with Lawn Fawn star dies. I embossed the background first with the SU stars folder. I have made this kind of card several times over the last few years and all went to a nursing home.

My door card has a wreath made the the challenge colors. I saw this wreath on Pinterest and added my own spin with the door. This door is from Holiday Frame and Holiday Frame fillers illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger.

I enjoyed creating for this months color challenges. All are available to participate in as the challenges never close. Thanks for reading all about my month of guest designing and what I created.

All About You Silhouette

This card came about as a CASE from the Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper, Tammy. I chose a card of here that has masking, ink blending, and a stamped floral. I kept the masking, ink blending and floral but used different colors and stamps.

I ink blended Lovely Lavender, by Gina K Designs, into a rectangle in the center. I used Meadow by Inkadinkadoo for the floral. The greeting is a Stampin Up set called Expressions of Friendship. The Less is More Challenge is to use light purple and black on a card. I think my camera made the lavender look a bit pink, but it is lavender in real life.

Here is a link to Tammy’s card: https://stampwithtammy.com/less-is-more/

My card will be entered in the Less is More Challenge: https://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2023/06/challenge-485-colours.html

It is a lovely sunny day here. I love the sunshine and hope to walk outside and enjoy a bit of it. Thanks for spending a little time with me looking at my card.

Butterfly Trio

I created cards recently that fit the Triple B June challenge.

The butterflies were created using Gina K Designs Fluttering Fall Layering Stencil bundle. I made these several months ago and had them waiting to be used. The embossing folders are Simon Says Stamp and Stampin Up. The greeting is from SU Go-To Greetings set. I used a layout from the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast Stampers.

I like the simple look of these cards. The hardest part was finding the cardstock colors that matched the ink I used in the butterflies.

Thanks for coming by and looking at my cards. It is a beautiful day today as we have sunshine.

Daylily

I made a lily card today in honor of the Featured Stamper at Splitcoast Stampers. Since everything used is over a year old, it makes the perfect card for the Retro Rubber Challenge.

The stamp set used is Thank You Floral by Gina K Designs from 2018. I colored it with So Saffron SU Blends (alcohol markers) which matched the embossed panel. I used the SU Ornate Floral Embossing Folder from 2020. I love the small flower print and use it quite a bit. The other markers used are Spectrum Noir Citrus Green colors and one of the brown ones.

This will be entered in the Retro Rubber Challenge: https://www.retrorubberchallengeblog.com/my-blog/2023/05/challenge-207-anything-goes.html

I like this lily. I left a sentiment off so it can be used for anything. Thanks for stopping by!

May Basket

My card is featuring a basket and the basket weave texture.

The basket set is called Blossoming Basket, released in 2018 by Stampin Up. It was released with the embossing folder, Basket Weave, which is the texture in this card. The greeting is from Go-To Greetings, released in 2022, also Stampin Up.

I colored everything with alcohol markers. I used a Spellbinder Circle die to mount my basket on. I popped up the center flower for a bit of interest. I used SU and Gina K Designs paper for this card. The gems are Taylored Expressions.

This will be entered in the Retro Rubber Challenge Anything Goes: https://www.retrorubberchallengeblog.com/my-blog/2023/05/challenge-207-anything-goes.html

This will be posted to the Challenge Your Stash May challenge tomorrow, May 28, at Splitcoast Stampers. The challenge was to add a basket or weaving to your project. I chose both.

Enjoy the Memorial Day weekend. I am thankful for all who have served our country and for those who have lost their life for our country.

Eclectic Bird

The Most Recent Addition to my Stash is Stampin’ Up Eclectic Garden.

This set is a 2-step stamp set, so I can stamp the outline image in black ink and stamp color with other stamps in the set. I saw this on Pinterest so I used her layout and directions. It is helping me really learn the set. The bird is stamped in Bermuda Bay and the leaves in Pear Pizazz. I used Gina K Designs Black Onyx for the bird stamp and the greeting. The black gems are Nuvo drops; they are also new. The white paper is SU and the Black and card base are My Favorite Things cardstock.

This will be entered in: https://www.asyouseeitchallenge.com/2023/05/298.html

I purchased this set when the SU Annual Catalog was retiring and many items were discounted. The price was very reduced and I really liked the bird, so I purchased it. The other images are a radish, a beet, and an artichoke. There are other greetings as well. I think I will enjoy using this set.

I am adding this card to the Triple B: May Challenge https://dd-tripleb.blogspot.com/2023/05/may-challenge.html

Love the bird in the mood board. Thanks for coming by and looking at my card.

Strawberry Best

I saw the challenge at Double D today and got inspired immediately. I found I have 3 sets with strawberries but for this card, I didn’t use any of them.

These strawberries were fussy cut from patterned paper. This paper is a few years old from Sale-a-Bration. It was given as a duo when you spent $100. Well, I did not spend that much money. I purchased the paper and stamp set after the event was over. There are strawberries, leaves, and flowers all over one side of this piece of paper. The back side was used for the top of the card. I saw a video where she had this layout but stamped her strawberries. She mentioned that the punch, which I do not own, would cut out those strawberries. That made me really take a look a the paper and realize I could fussy cut the berries and use them.

The greeting is from Berry Blessing set which goes with the patterned paper. This set is all about blueberries and raspberries. The greeting works great for a strawberry though. It is stamped in Poppy Parade ink which matches the cardstock.

This will be entered in the Double D Challenge: https://daranddiane.blogspot.com/2023/05/fresh-picked-challenge.html

Maybe I will be back soon with another berry card. It was fun to use items that I haven’t used in quite a while.

Art Gallery Birthday

I received a new stamp set recently, so I have been creating birthday cards in several colors.

This is the Ricocco Rose version. I found this layout on Pinterest and it look me to Frenchie Stamps. I loved her layout, so I used her design and created similar versions.

My card fits in two rows. It fits the right down row: embossing, patterned paper, and birthday. It also fits the top across row: bright colors, layers, embossing.

As I said, I used Ricocco Rose ink, vellum, SU patterned paper in the Ricocco Rose color, and the embossing is both heat and dry. The dry embossing uses a folder called Old World Paper. The Happy Birthday is heat embossed on Ricocco Rose cardstock in white.

May has many birthdays that I need to send cards for. I made the same card in Mango Melody, Lost Lagoon, and Seaside Spray. They will be sent very soon. This will be posted here: http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/2023/04/pp638-tic-tac-toe-challenge-from-anne.html
