Floral Trio Hello

I thought I would share my card here.

This has been posted to the Triple B challenge: https://dd-tripleb.blogspot.com/2025/01/triple-b-january-2025-challenge.html

I made this for the Featured Stamper challenge at SplitcoastStampers yesterday. Since I already posted one to the Triple B Challenge from this blog, I posted it from SCS.

I used SU Irresistible Blooms stamp set, matching dies, and patterned paper for this card. This is a new to me set. I purchased the stamp set used, but barely used, and then got the dies from SU as they were on the Last Chance list, formerly Clearance Rack, and the paper was given to me. Lost Lagoon is the blue green color of paper and ink used. The white is Accent White and the gems I found in my stash. The flowers and leaves were cut from the patterned paper.

It was a fun card to create. Here is the card that I used for inspiration: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/882194?cat=fav

I turned her card layout and made mine portrait, rather than landscape. I chose to use flowers rather than butterflies and used a die to make my dots, rather than patterned paper.

We are in the frigid weather outdoors, so that means I will remain indoors spending much time in my stamp room. I did hear the birds singing, which is always a plus.

Winter Bird

I have a winter Christmas card meeting a few challenges.

My bird has been colored for several months sitting the stamp case; I have several of these colored so this is the one I chose to use for this card. The set I used is SU Perched in a Tree, released in 2022, then retired a year later. I used matching dies to cut the butterfly, branch, and the Aspen Trees are in the die set. I followed a tutorial by Brandy Cox and altered it a bit. She used a white cardbase and I chose blue; she used embossing paste to make her trees wintery and I used Taylored Expressions clear glitter embossing powder. The background is stamped with Gina K Designs Powder Blue ink to add texture.

I am also adding this to the Triple B January challenge and the Four Seasons Challenge. Diane mentioned these in her comment.

This card is posted to the alphabet challenge with SplitcoastStampers. We are going through the alphabet using keywords that have to be on the card plus one of our own. I chose the word bird from the list and added blue from my own.

I hope to keep up with a few challenges this year to post to the blog. I have already caved on limiting my shopping and using my stash. I found some bargains that were calling me.

Butterfly Note Card

I have a goal for the year to try to use what I own. I am not sure how long that will last as there is always something new catching my eye. This card is using many retired products, most that have never been used before.

The stamp set used is called Butterfly Gala with the matching punch, very retired. The colors used are Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sorbet, and gold. I used a stencil on the background that I heat embossed with clear glitter embossing powder. The gold is a Posca Pen. The color challenge is from SplitcoastStampers CC1033.

I am entering this in the December Stencil challenge, even though it is January. Thanks for coming by and seeing my creation. I enjoyed creating with something new to me.

Christmas Tree

I am joining with the buddies in the Turbo Tree challenge.

I saw this idea on Pinterest and went with it. The stamp set is SU Evening Evergreen. I stamped it with Gina K Designs Christmas Pine ink and used Christmas Pine cardstock. I used Spellbinders Rectangle dies for cutting everything. I had 48 seconds left when I shut the timer off.

This was a fun challenge to finish.

Ursinia Flower

Each week I play along with the alphabet challenge at Splitcoast Stampers and this week is a flower called the Ursinia. It is in the daisy family and found in Africa. It’s colors are orange with a darker circle towards the center and then orange in the center. I used the Sunday Stamps sketch to complete my card.

I used Newton’s Nook Dainty Daisies for the flower and a Simon Says Stamp and die set for the word Hugs. The ovals are cut with Gina K Designs and Thermoweb stitched ovals. The patterned paper is from SU Flowers for Every Season DSP. I colored the flowers with alcohol markers and fussy cut them.

Each week of this alpha challenge is another flower I have never heard of. I research each one and either create the flower or use the colors to make my card. This one went together easily with the help of this sketch.

Happiest Snowman Wishes

Sharing a Christmas card with a fun snowman…I have several cards that have not been shared here on the blog, so I chose one to share.

I chose to use my Home for the Holidays patterned paper with snowflakes and colored the snowman to match the colors on the patterned paper. Those colors are Jelly Bean Green, Turquoise Sea, and Christmas Pine and I found alcohol markers that were close all different brands. The cardstock is Turquoise Sea by Gina K Designs.

I have been busy crafting with Falliday Fest at Splitcoast Stampers along with watching Justine Hovey’s 12 Days of Christmas. Add the medical stuff happening in my household, I have been slow adding photos to this blog. Sorry for the short post.

Honeysuckle Birthday

I created a card that is CAS and off center, so it will be entered in the Simply Clean challenge. I will add this to the Seize the Birthday with the anything goes option.

This is called honeysuckle since this week’s alphabet challenge at SCS is the honeysuckle flower or the honeysuckle colors. This is a bush and it has flowers that are pink at the base with yellow at the tips, from my research. I do not own the flower stamp and my own drawing approach was not good, so I went with a stamped image.

I used SU Bordering Blooms for the image to color. The greeting is from Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings. I used copic markers to color the images. The ribbon is SU Daffodil Delight and the gems are SU In Color 2021-2023.

Thanks for stopping by. It seems to be busy, but I do enjoy being able to create and share.

Lemon Birthday

I enjoyed creating a card for the Retro Rubber Challenge. It allows me to use what I have and enjoy it once again.

I used the Shine On stamp set from Simon Says Stamp which was released in July 2022. It as part of a kit that used the Simple Stories Vintage Lemon Twist paper pad. I purchased each piece, so I have a lot of this paper left to use.

I colored the lemons with Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lolly inks to watercolor each lemon. I used Lemon Lime Twist to color the leaves. The flowers began with yellows then decided to add more blues, so out came Azure Afternoon; that is why there is a tinge of green in a few of the places. I chose the background paper as it has a mixture of blues to fit the color scheme.

I think I managed four of the colors. I always enjoy this challenge and love color challenges. Thanks for coming by and seeing my creation.

Oh So Lovely Thank YOu

I decided to play in the As You See It Challenge #325. Possibly Gayle and Johanna are inspiring me.

When my timer went off, I had 2 minutes and 14 seconds left. That means I used 7 minutes and 45 seconds. Had I realize how much time I had, I may have tried to score between the stamped images and greeting, but I had it together before I looked at the timer.

The stamp set used for the flowers is called Oh So Lovely by Stampin Up. It is a woodblock set and this is the first card I created with it. It was given to me last year, so I put it away and forgot about it. I used SU Petal Pink for the background block and Lawn Fawn Storm Cloud for the flowers and greeting.

Thank you for the encouraging comments. Since summer is here I am walking earlier in the day. It was a nice walk this morning with clear skies and listening to the birds singing.
