Daisy Bouquet

I saw this no line coloring video  by Desiree Kuemmerle on the recent Simon Says Lucky to Know You blog hop and had to give it a try. I sponged the Daisy Bouquet stencil with Warm Glow ink, removed the stencil and started coloring with Prismas: Nectar – PC1092, Mahogany Red – P 1092, Lime Peel – PC1005, Olive Green – PC911, Sunburst Yellow – P917,  Yellow Ochre – PC942, Burnt Ochre, PC943, Caribbean Sea – PC1123, Indigo Blue – PC901, Black Grape – PC996, Sepia – PC948, and White – PC938. The sentiment, from Bold & Blooming was stamped in Blue Denim. The mat is also Blue Denim and the card base is Sweet Corn. This was fun to do, but I need a lot of practice with my shading.  I’m entering this in the Just Us Girls #528 Color Week Challenge and the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge – Anything Goes. And another card for my birthday stash.

Good Luck

Had a bit of fun creating a St. Patrick’s Day card.

The cat in the hat is from Gerda Steiner Designs: https://gsd-stamps.com/collections/digital-stamps-spring/products/st-patricks-day-digital-stamp I rarely use digital stamps, but the ones in this shop are quite easy. It is colored in a combination of Copic, Spectrum Noir, and Sharpie markers with a Uniball Gold Gen pen thrown in the mix.

The cardbase is white Hobby Lobby paper. The green layer is Gina K Designs, Grass Green which I stamped with My Favorite Things Garden Flourish background stamp in Versamark ink. The banner is also Gina K, Journey of the Heart patterned paper. The sentiment Good Luck is from Stampin’ Up Paper Pumpkin, December 2019, Something for Everything.

I used a sketch to complete the layout. The sketch is from Split Coast Stampers SC792. It has squares, but I changed it to circles. I enjoyed creating the card, following a sketch with a specific theme.

Hello Friend

I finished a card that meets several challenges.

Supplies used: 1. Gemstones from The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby),

2. Stamp sets: GKD Sentimental Bouquet (2017), Hello Flowers (2016),

3. SU Spring Flowers Embossing Folder (2015),

4. cardstock: SU Pretty Peacock (current in-color 2019-2021), mixture of white

5. ink: GKD Plum Punch substituted for SU Rich Razzleberry, GKD Fresh Asparagus substitute for SU Old Olive, SU Pretty Peacock, Memento Tuxedo Black

Dates are listed for the Retro Rubber Challenge of anything goes. All stamps used are definitely over one year old; I have used them many times over the last few years.

Monthly Mix Challenge from Gina K Designs is to add texture. I used the embossing folder to add texture to the background.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge is to add a sentiment. I added Hello Friend.

Double D Challenge is to use the word Hello.

My inspiration for the colors is from the Split Coast Stampers color challenge CC780: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/color-combinations-f43/cc780-rich-peacock-eating-olives-2-25-20-a-t632480.html

I found a card made by Sherri Gilson that I used for inspiration, but can’t seem to locate it to link. I enjoyed creating this card and finding several challenges that it would fit. Thanks for looking.

Blue Christmas in 10

As You See It #212 Color Me Quickly – Blue

This took me a little over 7 minutes. When first got the Poinsettia background by Simon Says Stamp,  I stamped and embossed a bunch of backgrounds to use for Christmas cards. This was stamped Ocean Mist embossed with silver. I trimmed the 6” square panel using a die from Matting Basics B by Spellbinders. The card base is Blue Denim trimmed 4 ¼” x 11” scored at 5½”. I just happened to have a scrap that was the right size for the sentiment from Holiday Greetings Mix 1 by Simon Says and used MISTI to get it centered. That was also embossed in silver and mounted with foam tape for dimension. Since I still had a couple of minutes to spare, I cut an Ivory panel for the inside, stamped with a sentiment from Holiday Greetings Mix 1 in Denim Blue.

CAS Colours & Sketches #345

CAS Colours & Sketches #345 – Double

Since October had five Tuesdays, there was a double challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches – follow the color pallet of Bashful Blue, Sweet Sugar Plum and Dapper Denim and a given sketch. I made a lot of panels with the Poinsettia Background by Simon Says. This one is embossed in silver on Bubblegum Pink, cut down to a 3½” square.  I used a seal from the Holiday Seals by The Stamping Village stamped on Powder Blue, embossed in silver, die cut with a Spellbinders circle die. The “flag” is Blue Denim. JOY is from Holiday Greetings Mix 1 by Simon Says, embossed in silver.

Global Design Project

Global Design Project #213

This is the first time I’ve entered the Global Design Project Challenge. I used the closest colors I had to their pallet – Old Olive, Lovely Lipstick and Smoky Slate. The image from Holiday Greetings Mix 1 by Simon Says was stamped in Fresh Asparagus (the closest to Old Olive) on a white panel cut 2¾” x 4½”. I colored the berries with Copic R85. The leaves were colored with Prisma Pencil 911, heavy on one side of the leaves, lighter on the other for contrast. The Wishing You A and Christmas from the same set were stamped in Soft Stone.  The focal panel was matted with a piece of Dusty Rose cut 3 x 4¾” placed on a Soft Stone card base. This is probably not a combination I would have used, especially for a Christmas card, but I like how it turned out.

You are the Sweetest

Simon Says Stamp has a Stamptember set for Avery Elle. I own a few of their stamps, a lot of patterned paper, and storage envelopes. I had to participate in their Stamptember card Avery Elle link-up. It will also be placed in the Wednesday, Anything Goes challenge: https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-anything-goes-66/

This card will also be placed in the Mod Squad Challenge for this week to create a thoughtful card for somebody. http://modsquadchallenge.com/a-time-for-giving/

Sweetest

This stamp set is called Sweetest. I love the ice cream and Popsicle especially with a face. Each treat was colored with Copic markers. I added sparkle with a clear sparkle pen, then coated the cream and colored popsicle part with Glossy Accents. The stage they are standing on is a Sizzix/Stephanie Bernard embossing folder called Dots.

Vintage Rose for a few Challenges

It took me a whole month to get inspired to make a vintage card. I used the stamp set Vintage Rose by Gina K Designs along with her Ivory Cardstock in both heavy weight and layering weight. The roses are colored with Spectrum Noir markers in the dark red colors. I sponged on a bit of brown tones to darken the embossed background and also the roses. I left the greeting off of the front and will decide what to use it for at a later date.

Vintage Rose

This will be posted in this challenge: https://www.ginakdesigns.com/2019/06/01/june-2019-monthly-mix-challenge/

The embossing folder used is called Lacy Brocade, retired by Stampin Up.

This will be entered in the Mod Squad Challenge: http://modsquadchallenge.com/use-a-flower-pink-main/

This will also be entered in Power Poppy Challenge: http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2019/06/creative-confetti-just-color.html

And the last challenge it will be entered in is Simon Says Stamp: https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-anything-goes-63/
