Vintage Rose for a few Challenges

It took me a whole month to get inspired to make a vintage card. I used the stamp set Vintage Rose by Gina K Designs along with her Ivory Cardstock in both heavy weight and layering weight. The roses are colored with Spectrum Noir markers in the dark red colors. I sponged on a bit of brown tones to darken the embossed background and also the roses. I left the greeting off of the front and will decide what to use it for at a later date.

Fun with more Split Coast Stamper challenges

I got a little time in my craft room today and made a card that fits three challenges at SCS.

Celebrate with Fireworks

The fireworks came from the Hibiscus set by Maymay Made It. The center of the hibiscus flowers look like fireworks. This fits this week’s color challenge of Red, White, and Blue, the Monday Clean and Simple Challenge of showing a summer activity, and the Friday challenge where summer was the inspiration. We generally find fireworks to see and that is a family activity and we all enjoy.

The word celebrate came from Big Time Sayings also by Maymay. The star came from a Paper Smooches stamp set. I hope to remember to pop this in the mail.

Fun with Featured Stamper

I found inspiration from the Featured Stamper from Split Coast Designs today. I chose this card as my inspiration: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2920588?&cat=500&ppuser=95464

Thinking of You

I used the Sentimental Bouquet set and dies, from Gina K Designs, to create the flowers and sentiment for this card. I blended a couple of light brown tones on the brick stencil using a make up blending brush; thanks Bonnie. I blended SU Soft Sky ink for the sky using the same blending brush. I popped up a few flowers and leaves on the brick wall. I added a bit of bling to the center of the flowers and called it done.

Garden Grow

I stamped with a new set recently, from Maymay Made It, called Garden Grow.

Bloom

I stamped the image in Versafine Claire Blue Belle ink, the only Claire ink I own. I was struggling with other inks as I wasn’t able to get a fully stamped image. It still had issues with the Claire ink, but I was able to finally get a fully inked image.

I colored the flowers with Tombow markers and the watering can with Memento markers. I grounded the can with a combination of Kraft and Sandy Beach inks from Gina K Designs. I stamped a small image from the set all over the Kraft carstock with Versamark ink. This was fun to color when it was finally fully inked.

Eclipse card

I have never made an eclipse card before till yesterday. This card was entered in this week’s Mod Squad Challenge.

Tropical Hugs

All inks used are Lawn Fawn as well as the word “hugs”, from their Scripty Hugs die. The stamps are Gina K Designs Tropical Blooms.

Square cards with Roses

When Split Coast Stampers had a rose challenge for Clean and Simple Cards, I thought of the layering rose set that I have. I finally made two card with this set.

Layered Rose Birthday

The Rose set is called Layering Rose by Maymay Made It. I fell in love with it when it was released on her site. They make this stamp for a card kit from another company, but sell them on their site after the other company’s release. Anyway, I have had this for a few months, stamped several but never made them into cards.

I cut two pieces of GKD Layering Weight White cardstock in 3 3/4 inch squares. Using my MISTI, I began stamping the large rose, masked it off, then added a smaller rose on each side. I placed the buds on each side and the leaves as I saw places where they would work well.

The pink colors are all Gina K Designs: innocent pink, bubblegum pink, passionate pink. The yellow colors are Lawn Fawn: butter, lemonade, sunflower. The greens are Gina K Designs: jelly bean green, grass green. The sentiment is Gina K Designs Slate.

The sentiment is from a retired Paper Trey Ink set called Delightful Dahlias. I thought the dark gray ink worked well.

I kept the cards flat with no sequins or embellishments. Easy mailing is always a plus.

I just learned that these cards fit the Double D Challenge: http://daranddiane.blogspot.com/2019/06/rose-garden.html

I will post them there.

June cards with Split Coast Stampers

I have been playing with the challenges at Split Coast Stampers. Here are a few cards.

Featured Stamper Birthday Hoot

The above card uses Gina K Designs Birthday Hoot stamp set and matching patterned paper. The owl is colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

Sailboats

The sailboat card is for a color challenge. The colors are Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, and Lemon Lime Twist, all SU colors. I used three vendors stamps for this card: Beacon by Maymay Made It, Cloudy Skies by Simon Says Stamp, and flipflop2stamp by The Stamps of Life. For the navy color, I used Gina K Designs ink and the others are SU.

Sentimental Rose birthday

The above card is for the MISTI Monday challenge, to make a shaped card. I used the MISTI for the sentiment, the rose and leaves. I masked the rose before placing the leaves. The scallop lays flat and the circle opens.

Thanks for looking at my newest cards.

You Inspire Me

I love color challenges and played along with one from Split Coast Stampers.

You Inspire Me

I used the stamp set Flutter By from Lawn Fawn. The ink colors are Mango Melody, Poppy Parade, and Call Me Clover, all SU colors. I used these colors with a blender pen. This is the first time I used this stamp set. It is a nice set with a lot of possibilities, so you will see it again hopefully soon.

I will be posting this on Simon Says Stamp blog with the Anything Goes challenge: https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-anything-goes-62/

Power Poppy Sketch Challenge card

Power Poppy has a sketch this week. I love sketches, so had to sit down and create with it. Here is the blog post: http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2019/05/creative-confetti-sketch-it-out.html

Hello Friend

I used two Dynamic Duos on this card. The first is Peonies and Tulips and the second is Foxglove and Ranunculus for the sentiment. The Kraft cardstock is from Gina K Designs, the white and pink are both SU- Naturals White and Pink Pirouette, and the patterned paper is Flower Market from Carta Bella. I added sparkle to the pink cardstock and the tulips with a Crafter’s Companion sparkle pen. I colored the tulips with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.

Fun sketch.
