Happy Bee-Day Mini Slimline

I watched the Virtual Retreat with Not 2 Shabby recently. With the retreat came a special sheet load of cards sketch by Crafty Al. I made 8 cards with this sketch.

I like to decorate the envelope to match the card, if possible. This time I used the same bee on the envelope that is on the front of the card, as well as the inside. The patterned paper used is Echo Park Bee Happy. I chose SU Crushed Curry for the accent yellow and Accent White for the card base. I used a Lawn Fawn die to cut out the greeting. All stamped images are from an Ellen Hutson set called One in a Buzz-illion.

Humming Along to the Jessamine Bush

I have been creating with the alpha challenge at Splitcoaststampers and the challenges are flowers this round. This weeks is the Jessamine flower, which is the State Flower of South Carolina.

To create this card, I used the Hummingbird set from Hero Arts with matching dies. I stamped the two flowers many times, coloring them with Copic markers, then cutting them with dies. I arranged them to resemble a bush with many blooms sticking out so the hummingbirds could find them.

This will be entered in the Triple B: August 2020 Challenge: https://dd-tripleb.blogspot.com/2024/08/august-2024-challenge.html

It has been a busy month at my house with two birthdays and a few doctor visits. I saw trees turning while we were out today. I was not expecting to see that yet.

Honeysuckle Birthday

I created a card that is CAS and off center, so it will be entered in the Simply Clean challenge. I will add this to the Seize the Birthday with the anything goes option.

This is called honeysuckle since this week’s alphabet challenge at SCS is the honeysuckle flower or the honeysuckle colors. This is a bush and it has flowers that are pink at the base with yellow at the tips, from my research. I do not own the flower stamp and my own drawing approach was not good, so I went with a stamped image.

I used SU Bordering Blooms for the image to color. The greeting is from Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings. I used copic markers to color the images. The ribbon is SU Daffodil Delight and the gems are SU In Color 2021-2023.

Thanks for stopping by. It seems to be busy, but I do enjoy being able to create and share.

Lemon Birthday

I enjoyed creating a card for the Retro Rubber Challenge. It allows me to use what I have and enjoy it once again.

I used the Shine On stamp set from Simon Says Stamp which was released in July 2022. It as part of a kit that used the Simple Stories Vintage Lemon Twist paper pad. I purchased each piece, so I have a lot of this paper left to use.

I colored the lemons with Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lolly inks to watercolor each lemon. I used Lemon Lime Twist to color the leaves. The flowers began with yellows then decided to add more blues, so out came Azure Afternoon; that is why there is a tinge of green in a few of the places. I chose the background paper as it has a mixture of blues to fit the color scheme.

I think I managed four of the colors. I always enjoy this challenge and love color challenges. Thanks for coming by and seeing my creation.

embossed Sympathy card

I created a card where I colored the debossed side. The embossing folder is from Spellbinders and is a 3D one.

I used various alcohol markers to color the debossed side. Then I dragged an ink pad over the top using a Lawn Fawn pool color. I decided it could be a sympathy card and used a greeting from Buddie Bonnie that she cut from her Silhouette machine. I made the background a dark gray, after changing the color two times previously, and the top to match the butterfly color. The butterflies match the card base and I cannot remember the color name. It is retired by Stampin Up a year ago.

This will be entered in the Triple B challenge, which I posted from my Splitcoast Stampers account. We have reached our maximum entries here on the blog, so I went there. Here is the challenge I entered it in: https://dd-tripleb.blogspot.com/2024/06/june-2024-challenge.html

My phone says today has a Heat Warning. It is supposed to be 92 which is hot, but not warning hot. Tomorrow is the warning hot day. I plan to get outside and walk before the heat, then I will be back in my craft room doing something. Enjoy your day!

Butterfly Hello

I made a card this week that I will enter in 2 challenges.

I used the Gina K Designs Fluttering Fall Layering Stencil and Stamp bundle for the majority of this card. The hello came from Sizzix/Stephanie Bernard die set; I have many and chose one that had a word that would fit. I used a Darice embossing folder for the background. The green cardstock layer is Fresh Asparagus by Gina K Designs. All other paper is Accent Opaque.

This will be entered in: https://stencilfun.blogspot.com/2024/06/june-stencil-fun-challenge.html

I enjoyed creating this card. I followed a layout by Mindy Eggen using my supplies.

Oh So Lovely Thank YOu

I decided to play in the As You See It Challenge #325. Possibly Gayle and Johanna are inspiring me.

When my timer went off, I had 2 minutes and 14 seconds left. That means I used 7 minutes and 45 seconds. Had I realize how much time I had, I may have tried to score between the stamped images and greeting, but I had it together before I looked at the timer.

The stamp set used for the flowers is called Oh So Lovely by Stampin Up. It is a woodblock set and this is the first card I created with it. It was given to me last year, so I put it away and forgot about it. I used SU Petal Pink for the background block and Lawn Fawn Storm Cloud for the flowers and greeting.

Thank you for the encouraging comments. Since summer is here I am walking earlier in the day. It was a nice walk this morning with clear skies and listening to the birds singing.

Birthday Balloon Blast

I had fun making a birthday balloon card.

I used an Altenew 3d embossing folder. This is the first time I have used it. I watercolored the balloons in Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo, and Pumpkin Pie all Stampin Up colors from this week’s color challenge at Splitcoaststampers. I used Ranger Watercolor Paper for embossing and coloring and placed it on Lemon Lime Twist cardbase.

Continuing through the Alphabet

I had to look and see the last alphabet challenge card I posted and it was V. I will share W, X, and Y for you to see.

For W, I chose the state of Washington. The state fruit is the red apple. I had fun creating this with the Apple Harvest stamp and die set from Stampin Up.

I used Lawn Fawn’s Ahoy Matey stamp set for this card. I found several cards on Pinterest which I combined to create this. One card had directions to create the treasure map, so I used her directions to create the paper that looked old. I followed her directions and Tombow marker colors for coloring my images. I used a few other cards to help with the layout. I enjoyed creating this card. It was mailed today to my BIL for his birthday.

My destination for Y is Yakama, Washington. They produce 50% of the Concord Grapes used in grape juice. I used Lawn Fawn Year Ten set for this card along with the newest Embroidery die set. The gingham paper is Gina K Designs along with matching cardstock. This was fun to create.

I am in the last week of the challenge for the letter Z. I have enjoyed creating these cards as I often had to think about where to go, what to use, and how to create the card. Sometimes I searched for ideas and other times, I just looked in my stash. Thanks for sharing in these creations.
