Sparkling Christmas

I made three cards with one layout. I will share all three cards and choose one to post to the Cardz 4 Galz challenge.

All patterned paper and ephemera are from Spellbinders Sparkling Christmas 2019 card kit. I chose three pieces of paper and cut them following the Natasha Foote layout that Buddy Johanna linked. I think my favorite is card 2 with the swan and little poinsettia flowers. My lighting is a bit off today as it was cloudy outside. Even with natural light, it still didn’t photograph as well as some days.

A couple of posts ago I mentioned medical stuff in my family. It turns out that our daughter has kidney stones which are very painful. We are awaiting the doctor appointment this week then hopefully it will be resolved soon. Thank you for those who noticed my post and asked.

Candy Corn Halloween

I completed a Halloween card today with the candy corn focus.

I followed Chari’s pattern and example when completing this card. I used Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. The pattern is found here: https://www.lawnfawn.com/pages/embroidery-hoop-patterns

The paper I stitched on is Gina K Designs; it holds up well and doesn’t tear. The stars were cut with Lawn Fawn dies.

This is my third stitching card I have completed this year. It will be mailed tomorrow. I enjoy creating them, but it is a slow process. Thanks for sharing in my card.

Happiest Snowman Wishes

Sharing a Christmas card with a fun snowman…I have several cards that have not been shared here on the blog, so I chose one to share.

I chose to use my Home for the Holidays patterned paper with snowflakes and colored the snowman to match the colors on the patterned paper. Those colors are Jelly Bean Green, Turquoise Sea, and Christmas Pine and I found alcohol markers that were close all different brands. The cardstock is Turquoise Sea by Gina K Designs.

I have been busy crafting with Falliday Fest at Splitcoast Stampers along with watching Justine Hovey’s 12 Days of Christmas. Add the medical stuff happening in my household, I have been slow adding photos to this blog. Sorry for the short post.

Happy Bee-Day Mini Slimline

I watched the Virtual Retreat with Not 2 Shabby recently. With the retreat came a special sheet load of cards sketch by Crafty Al. I made 8 cards with this sketch.

I like to decorate the envelope to match the card, if possible. This time I used the same bee on the envelope that is on the front of the card, as well as the inside. The patterned paper used is Echo Park Bee Happy. I chose SU Crushed Curry for the accent yellow and Accent White for the card base. I used a Lawn Fawn die to cut out the greeting. All stamped images are from an Ellen Hutson set called One in a Buzz-illion.

This will be entered in the Not 2 Shabby link: https://www.not2shabbyshop.com/Enjoy-This-Life–Craft-Along-Link-Party_b_220.html

It will also be entered in the Triple B September challenge: https://dd-tripleb.blogspot.com/2024/09/triple-b-september-2024-challenge.html

It will be entered in Love Those Pretty Papers Challenge: https://lovethoseprettypapers.blogspot.com/2024/09/atg-using-pretty-patterned-paper.html

Thank you for sharing in my card.

Humming Along to the Jessamine Bush

I have been creating with the alpha challenge at Splitcoaststampers and the challenges are flowers this round. This weeks is the Jessamine flower, which is the State Flower of South Carolina.

To create this card, I used the Hummingbird set from Hero Arts with matching dies. I stamped the two flowers many times, coloring them with Copic markers, then cutting them with dies. I arranged them to resemble a bush with many blooms sticking out so the hummingbirds could find them.

This will be entered in the Triple B: August 2020 Challenge: https://dd-tripleb.blogspot.com/2024/08/august-2024-challenge.html

It has been a busy month at my house with two birthdays and a few doctor visits. I saw trees turning while we were out today. I was not expecting to see that yet.

Honeysuckle Birthday

I created a card that is CAS and off center, so it will be entered in the Simply Clean challenge. I will add this to the Seize the Birthday with the anything goes option.

This is called honeysuckle since this week’s alphabet challenge at SCS is the honeysuckle flower or the honeysuckle colors. This is a bush and it has flowers that are pink at the base with yellow at the tips, from my research. I do not own the flower stamp and my own drawing approach was not good, so I went with a stamped image.

I used SU Bordering Blooms for the image to color. The greeting is from Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings. I used copic markers to color the images. The ribbon is SU Daffodil Delight and the gems are SU In Color 2021-2023.

Thanks for stopping by. It seems to be busy, but I do enjoy being able to create and share.

Lemon Birthday

I enjoyed creating a card for the Retro Rubber Challenge. It allows me to use what I have and enjoy it once again.

I used the Shine On stamp set from Simon Says Stamp which was released in July 2022. It as part of a kit that used the Simple Stories Vintage Lemon Twist paper pad. I purchased each piece, so I have a lot of this paper left to use.

I colored the lemons with Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lolly inks to watercolor each lemon. I used Lemon Lime Twist to color the leaves. The flowers began with yellows then decided to add more blues, so out came Azure Afternoon; that is why there is a tinge of green in a few of the places. I chose the background paper as it has a mixture of blues to fit the color scheme.

I think I managed four of the colors. I always enjoy this challenge and love color challenges. Thanks for coming by and seeing my creation.

embossed Sympathy card

I created a card where I colored the debossed side. The embossing folder is from Spellbinders and is a 3D one.

I used various alcohol markers to color the debossed side. Then I dragged an ink pad over the top using a Lawn Fawn pool color. I decided it could be a sympathy card and used a greeting from Buddie Bonnie that she cut from her Silhouette machine. I made the background a dark gray, after changing the color two times previously, and the top to match the butterfly color. The butterflies match the card base and I cannot remember the color name. It is retired by Stampin Up a year ago.

This will be entered in the Triple B challenge, which I posted from my Splitcoast Stampers account. We have reached our maximum entries here on the blog, so I went there. Here is the challenge I entered it in: https://dd-tripleb.blogspot.com/2024/06/june-2024-challenge.html

My phone says today has a Heat Warning. It is supposed to be 92 which is hot, but not warning hot. Tomorrow is the warning hot day. I plan to get outside and walk before the heat, then I will be back in my craft room doing something. Enjoy your day!

Butterfly Hello

I made a card this week that I will enter in 2 challenges.

I used the Gina K Designs Fluttering Fall Layering Stencil and Stamp bundle for the majority of this card. The hello came from Sizzix/Stephanie Bernard die set; I have many and chose one that had a word that would fit. I used a Darice embossing folder for the background. The green cardstock layer is Fresh Asparagus by Gina K Designs. All other paper is Accent Opaque.

This will be entered in: https://stencilfun.blogspot.com/2024/06/june-stencil-fun-challenge.html

I enjoyed creating this card. I followed a layout by Mindy Eggen using my supplies.
