Sailboat INteractive Card

This card was made for a man named Henry. He is disabled and lives near the ocean and loves boats. I got a lot of help from my family in creating this card.

This began as a completed card from the Paper Pumpkin 2019 On My Mind kit. I wanted the boat to move and after really looking at the completed card, I realized the adhesive was not holding well and could be easily dismantled. I took the entire card apart and all parts remained intact.

My daughter provided the die that the boat is gliding across the waves on. It is from a Llama set. The waves were cut with a Lawn Fawn set. A lot of foam was added to this card. The bottom layer has 3 layers, then the next wave has 2 layers and the boat has one layer. The boat needs to glide across the waves and over the wheel (or whatever it is called). The wheel spins. I has an eyelet under the brad to give height and keep it there for the wheel to spin.

This card fits in a 5 X 7 envelope as it was too tight for the A2 size. We bought a scale that just arrived! It weights 2 oz. so I placed 2 postage stamps on the envelope. It has a Buzz Lightyear stamp and a sailboat stamp from the Mighty Mississippi postage stamp collection. This gentleman is having a lot of hiccups lately so anything to bring a smile to his face will be welcomed.

He is the Tuesday Teacup recipient for this week at Splitcoast Stampers. I love to create cards for this challenge.

SPESHELL

The JUGS challenge is all about seashells.

I used a set from The Stamps of Life, seashell2stamp, for this card. I made this a month or so ago, planning it for a color challenge but didn’t finish in time, so I placed it in my stash. I chose bright colors, using an idea from the gallery at TSOL site.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Apple Fun Fold

I spent time coloring and creating a fun fold using the Apple Harvest Stamp set. I saw this idea on Pinterest and found it interesting, so I went to the website. Stamping Amore is the person who created the original card I used for inspiration. I used the same stamp and die set, but colored mine differently and used paper that I had.

This card is the standing position so you can see how the pieces are laid out. The front square is attached with black foam squares in the center, where it will not close the panel.

This shows the card laying and all open.

The final photo shows the card closed. It has two basic folds at 4 1/4 and 1 1/4. Then there are several layers of patterned paper making it look like it has several folds.

I used a red card base that was cut and laying close by. The white is Stampin Up Basic White. The checked pattern is from a summer pack by Echo Park. The black plaid/stripe is from another set by Carta Bella.

This will be entered in the Cardz 4 Galz: #402 More than One Fold challenge. http://cardz4galz.blogspot.com/2023/06/202-more-than-one-fold.html

I enjoyed creating this card. I like fun folds, so finding a new one is always right up my alley.

Guest Designing Color Challenges

I have been guest designing for the color challenges each Tuesday in June, at Splitcoast Stampers. I have enjoyed creating each card using specific colors.

CC951 used the colors Berry Burst, Shaded Spruce, and Lemon Lolly with the dessert of flowers. I used Berry Burst for the brick wall and the center flower. Shaded spruce was used on each flower stem. I do not own Lemon Lolly, so I substituted Gina K Designs Lemon Drop. I added neutrals of Misty Moonlight for the sky and Crumb Cake for the top of my fence and a background layer. The flowers are from the Art Gallery set.

CC952 had colors of Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, and Granny Apple Green. The dessert was using a die cut or punch. My cupcake is a triplets die designed by Stephanie Bernard for Sizzix, very retired. I found the greeting in a Gina K Designs set along with the stars. The small greeting is from a SU set. This was fun to create.

CC953 used the colors Balmy Blue, Azure Afternoon, and Sweet Sorbet with the dessert of added a favorite green. I used a mixture of Lawn Fawn Jalapeño and Freshly Cut Grass for my leaves. I used the stamp set Fresh Cut Flowers with coordinating dies for my flower. The hello is from a My Favorite Things set. I ran the Azure Afternoon rectangle layers through the Subtle embossing folder as they needed a bit of texture. I am quite happy with this card.

CC954 uses the colors Blueberry Bushel, Real Red, and white with a dessert of patriotic. My flag card uses Stamp Simply Grand Old Flag set. I added stars to the background with Lawn Fawn star dies. I embossed the background first with the SU stars folder. I have made this kind of card several times over the last few years and all went to a nursing home.

My door card has a wreath made the the challenge colors. I saw this wreath on Pinterest and added my own spin with the door. This door is from Holiday Frame and Holiday Frame fillers illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger.

I enjoyed creating for this months color challenges. All are available to participate in as the challenges never close. Thanks for reading all about my month of guest designing and what I created.

All About You Silhouette

This card came about as a CASE from the Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper, Tammy. I chose a card of here that has masking, ink blending, and a stamped floral. I kept the masking, ink blending and floral but used different colors and stamps.

I ink blended Lovely Lavender, by Gina K Designs, into a rectangle in the center. I used Meadow by Inkadinkadoo for the floral. The greeting is a Stampin Up set called Expressions of Friendship. The Less is More Challenge is to use light purple and black on a card. I think my camera made the lavender look a bit pink, but it is lavender in real life.

My card will be entered in the Less is More Challenge: https://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2023/06/challenge-485-colours.html

It is a lovely sunny day here. I love the sunshine and hope to walk outside and enjoy a bit of it. Thanks for spending a little time with me looking at my card.

Sweet Lemons

My card pack from Simple Stories and lemon stamps have not left my work space this week. I colored an image last night, finished it today, then completed a card. This will be entered in several challenges.

The patterned paper is Simple Stories–Simple Vintage Lemon Twist. It is featured as the gingham layer and behind the window. The window was die cut using a Memory Box die. I used the partial die cut technique as the window die only has 4 panes. I needed a larger window, so it was cut in 3 pieces and placed together to make it large enough for the window box. Then I ran the cut window through the SU Pinewood Planks embossing folder and ink blended Dark Chocolate ink over it. I added the turquoise pattern for sky. The window box and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp You Shine stamp set. The card base is from My Favorite Things cardstock.

The embossing allows me to add to Can you Handle the Pressure? I chose not to use the wedding theme.

I used a die, so I will add this to Cardz for Galz #201:

Crafting Happiness Challenge is Anything Goes:

I enjoyed finishing this card today. It is a beautiful Spring day here quickly reaching Summer temperatures. I enjoy the longer days and sunshine. Thanks for spending part of your day with me.

Enjoy the Lemonade

I created this card when I was on the design team for Splitcoast Stampers but never used it or posted it anywhere. It fits the Double D Challenge for Lemon-Ade so I will share it now.

I used Simple Stories Vintage Lemon Twist patterned paper for the background. I used Power Poppy Tea in the Garden stamp set for the focal image and greeting. I used Doily 1 die from The Stamps of Life with Sea Glass Cardstock for the scallops around the lemonade. Inks used are Slate for the greeting and Memento Tuxedo Black for the image that I colored with alcohol markers. This is a 5 X 7 card.

I really like this pack of patterned paper. I have the accompanying stamp set by Simon Says Stamp, now, so I will hopefully create a few cards using these products. I never posted this card because my daughter, who was helping me with photos, said it didn’t really fit the theme I was creating for. I like the card so am thrilled to have an excuse to share it.

Sweet Treats

I love the Retro Rubber Challenge as it helps me use the many stamps in my craft room. This month’s is a fun one with many bright colors.

I began working on these treats the minute I saw the challenge. This challenge is all about color. I had to use three of the five colors listed: yellow, pink/red, orange, green, brown. I used all five of the colors with these wonderful treats. The stamp set I used is Avery Elle Sweet Treats, 2018. I stamped these on watercolor paper, then added the colors using various dye inks and water. I added the basket weave as it was already embossed, sitting in my stash. It is crumb cake cardstock by Stampin Up and the embossing folder is a retired, SU folder. The yellow cardstock and the strip of patterned paper are Paper Studio, all sitting waiting to be used.

I think I am ready for a bit of that ice cream.

Butterfly Trio

I created cards recently that fit the Triple B June challenge.

The butterflies were created using Gina K Designs Fluttering Fall Layering Stencil bundle. I made these several months ago and had them waiting to be used. The embossing folders are Simon Says Stamp and Stampin Up. The greeting is from SU Go-To Greetings set. I used a layout from the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast Stampers.

I like the simple look of these cards. The hardest part was finding the cardstock colors that matched the ink I used in the butterflies.

Thanks for coming by and looking at my cards. It is a beautiful day today as we have sunshine.
