Make The Cards Challenge #37

There is a Theme Challenge of Halloween Witch with the Make the Cards Challenge that I decided to join in the fun.

My witch is a stamp from Outlines – Hampton Arts which I stamped multiple times in black ink and colored with some markers. I wonder why most of my witches have red hair? LOL….it may be type casting on my end. I added a few bats and some patterned paper to complete my card.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

Leaves of Fall

The Four Seasons Challenge

Joining a new to me challenge with The Four Seasons Challenge Anything Goes Fall challenge today with my card. Not too much stamping with the exception of the sentiment from GKD’s Autumn Silhouettes stamp set from the Festive Fall card kit. My leaves were die cut from some patterned papers using SimonSaysStamp’s Maple dies, adding some plaid paper from my stash and liquid pearls in buttercup.

Fun challenge and I focused on the fall colors in the inspiration board.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek.

Three Little Pumpkins

Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge October Anything Goes

Finishing up on my Halloween cards and getting ready to mail them but decided I needed a little cute in my stash. Using Simon Says Stamps Boo Day stamp set and taylored Expressions mini slim line window die and square window frame, I made this mini slimline card. Super cute to my eyes and will be sent off to our youngest granddaughter, Alexandra.

This card will be entered in the Two Old Bats Anything Halloween October challenge. I was inspired by the pumpkins on their mood board.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek.

Red and White

Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge #1

A new challenge blog has posted their first anything goes Christmas challenge which is a great idea to keep Christmas going all throughout the year. So for today’s card I decided to focus on the inspiration board panel of red and white.

After stamping the GKD’s Holiday Tapestry panel in white pigment ink and then heat embossing with white embossing powder, I cut out numerous letters in gold cardstock before finally deciding on the MERRY that I chose which is a Poppystamps Merry Christmas background die. I then needed to do a little stamp surgery on GKD’s Festive Frame sentiment for the word Christmas. It has a funky closed “C” but didn’t want to cut apart anymore stamps. I think if I make this again I will cut my letters from a gold heat embossed panel so the die cut letters and the stamped sentiment match. I’m thinking I need to add something after the sentiment but haven’t decided on that item yet. Not completely satisfied with this card but thought I would post it anyway.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek.

frightful & delightful

Make the Cards Challenge #36

I’m really enjoying this green Halloween background blended with Distress Oxide Inks Twisted Citron, Lucky Clover and Black Soot. So for today’s card which will be entered into the sketch challenge at Make the Cards Challenge, I added some patterned paper strips from SSS and stamped my swirl of bats from Inkadinkadoo’s Cats & Bats clear stamp set. Sentiment is a Studio G mounted red rubber that was probably in the dollar bin at AC Moore many many years ago. Spellbinder’s inverted square die was layered for my sentiment focal point.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. Even though I’m retired I still get excited for Fridays, so Happy TGIF eve! Stay safe and enjoy your Friday.

Owl-oween

Double D Challenges: Owls or Pumpkins Challenge

Another fun challenge with the Double D Challenges with a theme of Owls or Pumpkins. I opted for owls for this project which are from a Graphic 45/Hampton Art stamp set. To make my branch frame, I chose a stamp illustrated by Theresa Momber for Gina K Designs and the Celebrate the Season stamp set. If one frame wasn’t enough, I die cut an Impression Obsession frame from black glitter paper. The main image after stamped and heat embossed in clear embossing powder was ink blended using Distress Oxide Fossilized Amber ink, then got a little messy using Color Burst in Jack O-lantern, Zest and Cabbage for a little more color. I googled around for an idea on this card so it was a CASE that I forgot to save the original. Thanks to that talented maker.

Double D Challenges Mood Board

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. Baseball playoffs have begun so my hubby is happy again even without our Phillies in the post season. Stay safe all!

Hey there Pumpkin

As You See It Challenge #260 ModSquad Challenge

Today’s card will be entered into two different challenges:

As You See It Challenge #260 – Perpendicular Sketch

challenge #260

ModSquad Challenge: Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere which of course must include pumpkins in your project hosted by Judy. The sponsor for this challenge is Gina K Designs.

Gina’s Haunts & Harvest stamp set is such a cute set that includes some Halloween and Fall images with fun sentiments. The strip of patterned paper also is GKD and her Spooktacular You. I used a piece of vellum to stamp and clear heat emboss my sentiment to follow the AYSI sketch. I added a few sequins to finish off this card.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. Have a wonderful day and stay safe.

I’ll get you my pretty….

The Paper Players Theme Challenge PP561

and the theme is: Spooky! When I was looking for a stamp, I came across this old red rubber mounted stamp from Great Impressions and immediately thought of The Wizard of Oz. The Wicked Witch of the West cackles at Dorothy “I’ll get you my pretty and your little dog too.” Such a classic movie that I still watch every year it’s on tv. Nichol Spohr recently made a card for Colorado Craft Company’s new release using Distress Oxide inks in Twisted Citron, Lucky Clover and Black Soot. Taking inspiration from that card, I used the same colors for my background, adding white pigment ink clouds using my “Bonnie” cloud stencil and GKD ink. The moon was made using Tim Holtz moon mask stencil and lightly adding some antique linen distress oxide ink. The sentiment is a Recollections set and at the last moment decided to stencil some stars in GKD Honey Mustard ink.

Not too spooky for this challenge and thought it funny that there is a cat in the basket instead of Toto!

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. Have a wonderful week and stay safe.

Batty Boos

Two Old Bats – October Anything Goes

It’s a new month and a new mood board with the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge. I decided to take my inspiration from the black and white on the mood board. Using Pretty Pink Posh’s Boo stamp set, coordinating die and the Spider Web Stencil, I created my black and white Boo card. After die cutting out the letters and cutting down a transparency to size, adding foam tape, opted out on making this a shaker card. I know it would have been perfect for a shaker but I’m not always a fan of them and also not very successful either. Anyway using the stencil on black cardstock, I pounced white pigment ink from Gina K Designs over it and gave it a spray of perfect pearls/water combo. Adhered everything and the card was just a little too stark white for my liking so then stamped the spider included in the stamp set makings a spidery border. I also added some clear heat embossed spiders on black and die cut just incase I didn’t have enough spiders.

This is a great day to make some cards. I had three different events yesterday so we decided to stay home to watch the final game of a disappointing baseball season for our Phillies. Here’s to hoping they can pull out the final game with a win. Eagles already lost so it will not be a happy day for Philadelphia sports fans to have two teams lose game.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. Have a great day and stay safe.
