The second panel from a recent Halloween Create in Quads layering stencil from Taylored Expressions is the background for my card today. The large word die from Tim Holtz is intended to be my focal point of the card. After die cutting Whimsy “Boo” ghost dies from vellum and gluing them together with a SSS glue stick, I’ll call my card finished. My card today will be shared with:
Taylored Expressions Create in Quads Sunflower Party layering stencil set along with a TE sentiment with some splatter were used to make my card today. I did color some of the flower petals with a marker as the inks used for the layering stencil was a bit to close to each other in the color family. The create in quads from TE are great way to build up my finished card stack!
Scary! Not really with my Halloween create in quad stencils from Taylored Expressions. The scary word die is Whimsy Stamps (my favorite Halloween shopping place) and two Tim Holtz bats. I did cut panels and layered with black cardstock on this card. I’m thinking my scary is getting lost in the busy background…..maybe I could have layered it on vellum. It would be really scary if I tried to take it off and layer it on the vellum, wouldn’t it?
A CAS card today with a pumpkin theme which was achieved by using Gina K’s Harvest Flourish stencil and pumpkin trio from Haunts to Harvest stamp set. Sentiment was stamped from SSS Happy Haunting stamp set. A pretty simple card today but I kind of like the way it turned out.
My card today was made with traditional Halloween colors in mind. The patterned paper is from Whimsy Stamps Haunted paper pack and my flying-by witch is a good old Inkadinkadoo stamp set. Sentiment is a SSS sentiment strip and tree was die cut from a Tim Holtz set (I think).
Taking time before the excitement and trick or treaters arrive the sister witches decided to have some “tea” and get ready for a busy night! For my card today, I decided on Great Impressions Witches Brew red rubber. After inking and stamping in black ink, I cut a mask of the witches, positioned the Tim Holtz layering moon mask in place and began my background ink by blending Distress Oxide Inks in wilted violet, black soot and twisted citron. I wish I would have kept the stamp in my misti to reink the image after completing the background. A bit of water splatter and some black soot. I added the detailed stencil of the moon and used yellow and orange inks that were on my dauber. Sentiment, bats and spider are SSS Spook up some fun stamp set and cut a frame using Taylored Expressions Squiggly Stacklets.
My card will be shared with Double D Challenges with a theme of the Trick or Treat Smell my Feet song. My treat today is “tea” and maybe a bat or two.
Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, stay safe.
I’m still loving Whimsy Stamps and their Halloween products. This card Misfits card fronts and Chunky Checkers die set. I sponged white clouds with pigment ink on the black note card then covered it up with the focal image…..LoL. After adding paper spider web paper doily sections and three Tim Holtz spider dies and sentiment from the card front set, I can call this one complete and am loving it too.
My leafy card today uses the debossed embossing blackout technique however I actually used a brown (TE Hot Fudge) ink instead of black. A variety of TE’s reds, yellow, orange and a bit of blue inks were used on my debossed panel of TE’s Lovely Leaves embossing folder which was part of the Combo Club I participate in receiving. I decided to make a gatefold card with a bellyband that was stamped with TE’s Check In background stamp and then die cut a number of leaves from Garden Variety-Fall dies using the same colors as the debossed panels as well as a few cut in honey cardstock with the edges swiped with hot fudge ink arranging them on a hexagon die cut. This card is one I made for a cardswap for the upcoming Taylored Expressions Virtual StampJoy Stay-cation event so all my products were Taylored Expressions.
It only took four attempts to create my own background for this card. When I was finally happy with the TE Squiggly Stacklets die cut panel which was stenciled with a combination of SimonSaysStamps’ Mixed Match Circles and a second that I cannot recall the name inked in Kitsch Flamingo DO ink then stamped in black with Hero Arts bat background stamp!! I then started work on my focal image and more Distress Oxide inks and a spritz of water a layer of Memory Box Pasture Grasses and my IO trick or treaters. It only took me two attempts to stamp the black notecard with the white pigment ink HA’s bat stamp (first attempt my bats were upside down)!!! A few Martha Stewart bat punched bats and thankfully this is completed. My card will be shared with:
Pretty mood board which inspired me to use pink circles for my background. Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and stay safe.
