Birthday Dots

My card today was made using Taylored Expressions Dots of Diamonds embossing folder and TE’s Easy Strips 1/4″ Patterns Dies, a Sizzix embossing folder and lots of pink with a touch of orange. The dots on the embossing folder and the sentiment on the embossed circle die were all ‘very, very carefully’ inked with a pink marker. I believe that the sentiment must have been part of other embossing folders from Sizzix but it seems to have lost it’s companions.

I am planning on sharing my card with:

Can You Handle the Pressure Challenge We are challenged to use an embossing folder with a twist of birthdays.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, be safe and stay warm.

Wintry Blue

Nothing better than blue winter cards especially when the snowflakes are on the card and not on the ground.  So for my card, I used a SimonSaysStamp stampset from their Snowflake Season kit from a few years ago. The edges were masked off using Gina K Designs masking magic, stamped the snowflakes in versamark and white heat embossed then ink blended in navy ink. The additional die cut snowflakes from SSS Sensational Snowflakes die were cut in navy cardstock, white shimmer and blue foil cardstock.

My card will be shared with the challenge at:

The Sisterhood of Crafters: January 2024 Winter “Blues” challenge

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, be safe and stay warm. Friday, February 2nd is Groundhog Day in Pennsylvania. Who knows what Punxsutawney Phil may predict this year???

Owen’s Valentine

Starting to make my Valentine cards and the first one will be for our 18 month old grandson with this fun card.  After seeing a sketch on Facebook from Rabbit Hole Designs, I decided to shop my stash and came up with this fun “Longing” giraffe from Penny Black stamps. My heart frame was cut using Spellbinders heart dies, the LOVE is emphemera and then at the last minute decided to lightly stencil hearts from Pretty Pink Posh with pink left on a brush.

My card today will be shared with the challenge at:

Cardz 4 Galz: Reds and/or Pinks Galore

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. The rain today with the above freezing temperatures have washed away all of the snow. It will be another toss up if we will see more rain or snow but I sure could use a nice sunny day. Take care, be safe and stay warm.

North Dakota Welcome

A card today for a grand”friend” who has been assigned to Minot AFB in North Dakota. I’m sure hoping he gets a little chuckle while dealing with the extreme cold weather in his home for the next 3 or so years. When I am searching for cute and funny, I always head for my Inkadinkadoo stamps and this one was from a set named Friendly Characters. To make some snow and snow banks, I used SimonSaysStamps Snowfall and Bank Stencil…maybe I should review the technique with this stencil but I kind of like the white between my “hills”.

Today’s card will be shared with two different challenges:

Crazy is our fame – STENCILS are our game: January 2024 stencil fun with a theme of birds. Penguins are birds, aren’t they?

Simply Clean & Simple: January 2024 Challenge with a theme of winter

Lots of white space even with light stenciling in my opinion.

I must still be in my blue color mode! Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, stay warm and be safe.

Sparkle Up!

My card today has a bit of sparkle and a bit of shine and a bit of blue, too. After deciding on Recollections Ink Splatter paper pad in blue and silver, I stamped it with SimonSaysStamp Friendship Text Background and clear heat embossed it for a little more shine. Then added my focal die cut and SSS Script Hello die as well as Taylored Expressions Frame in Frame 3 cutting pad in white glitter cardstock to complete my card.

My card will be shared with:

Double D Challenges: Sparkle and/or Shine challenge for January 17, 2024

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Snow Buddies

It’s cold, it’s snowing, it’s cold and it’s going to snow again which will make the third round. We seem to be a repeat mode but not nearly as brutal as some parts of the states which inspired me to include some snow buddies on my card. The background was embossed with a Cutlebug snowflake embossing folder on blue cardstock with white pigment ink swiped over the embossed areas. The Cottage Cutz Peeker Snowmen were die cut and colored but alas they needed something to peek over and I pulled out my much loved Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch which kind of sort of looks like icicles  Then added a sentiment from Hero Arts Color Layering Waves stamp set. I thought that if that font works for sand it should be ok for snow, too!

My card will be shared with:

Can You Handle The Pressure? January 13th 2024 Anything Goes with a Twist of Snow People and of course the required embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Forest Kitty

Brrrr….this Halloween kitty looks quite cold out in the forest, doesn’t she? I am playing along with the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge and have definitely been inspired by their mood board with today’s card. After inking my card base with some Distress Oxide inks, die cutting Taylored Expressions Birch Tree Border trees and swiping some white pigment ink over them, die cut my kitty from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Toil and Trouble die set adding a little splash of water here and there my card is completed.

My card will be shared in the:

Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge – January 2024 Anything Halloween

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, be safe and stay warm. It was another snow shoveling day today and temps are dropping once again and it may be another round of snow for Friday. My collection of snowmen have had their fun in my front window but it is now time to send them back to the basement and hopefully get out of this cycle.

Birthday Safari

Sending a tribe of monkeys with some birthday wishes to my cousin. My card today uses my most used jungle/safari theme stamp set from a My Monthly Hero release from a number of years ago, Taylored Expressions Fineline Vine background stamp, SimonSaysStamp Large Happy Birthday die set.

My card today will be shared with Cardz 4 Galz #215 Safari challenge

Thanks for stopping for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Cool Blues

A color challenge with a dreamy mood board of the Blue Lagoon in Iceland. Beautiful! I had to restrain myself from adding warm tone colors on my card but finally decided on a variety of blue shades, a touch of green and some light lavender for a touch of purple/pink. My focal image is Spellbinders Circle Sketch clear stamp that was white heat embossed. Gina K Designs sentiment stamped on glitter cardstock, Taylored Expressions frame in frame 2 cutting plate and layered on a dark blue card base. If I can make one I should make two. Here’s the second card with a few tweaks.

My card today will be shared with Colorful Options: Janaury 2024 – Blue Lagon- Iceland

Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe. 6 inches of snow over the weekend and tomorrow we are expecting 2-3 inches of rain and high winds. Oh my Oh my!!
