Two fun challenges for my card today uses a NEW Taylored Expressions Doodle Birds stamps and dies, Doodle Bird Digs and Mini Strips – Sending; OLD is a SimonSaysStamp Cloud Stencil from an April kit of an unknown year and BLUE is my inked cloud background.

Classic

Yes, he sure is a classic! Hard to find car images for my husband and his treasured ’64 Pontiac GTO classic car. This Altenew stamp & die set was kind of sort of close to his model car. After stamping and die cutting, layered it with some frames and kept with a blue and brown “masculine” color scheme. I may need a little more practice and it was fun to make but unfortunately I cannot repeat it for awhile.

Bag It!

A challenge of shoe and or purses. Love both but after digging through my stash, I finally found an on line image of a purse that I liked. Colored the image, mounted it on circle die cuts, patterned paper from Hopscotch paper pad by BasicGrey and sentiment from an purse/shoe stamp set I’ve had for years. I was digging deep for this challenge. I liked the patterened paper because of the cute flowers that resembled the one on my bag. Added some embellisments and I probably should say some very bright embellishments. LOL! My background was cut from a gift with purchase from Taylored Expressions All Planned Out 1 die set.

Strawberry Fields

It is strawberry time! After stamping and coloring in my strawberries using a very old Gina K Designs Enjoy The Sunshine StampTV kit, I stamped the sentiment from a more recent GKD You’re the Sweetest stamp set. Patterned paper is also from GKD. After adhering the patterned paper to cardstock layer it was embossed with a diamond Sizzix embossing folder and the green circle layer behind my focal image was embossed with swiss dots embossing folder.

Bee Dotty

After deciding on a variety of polka dotted patterned papers, I die cut them using Taylored Expressions Hexagon Stacklets and second die using black cardstock as a partial backer. My stamped images are Sweet & Sassy Stamps’ Bee Happy Rhubarb that I have had almost forever and needed to be inked. Rhubarb was colored using Prismacolor pencils and gamsol. The black grounding strip was die cut using TE’s 1/4′ patterns easy strips die.

Get Well Bloom

I was inspired by a card on Pinterest to make my CAS card in gray, white and a pop of color. This is a top folding card and the bottom is embossed with an old Cuttlebug Pop Culture strip embossing folder. As this is a CAS card I didn’t want to add a second layer strip for the sentiment so I scored an area then stamped the Gina K Designs So Many Sentiments in white pigment ink and white embossing powder. The Taylored Expressions Versatile Vases was stamped with a linen background stamp in Sea Salt ink and Flower Market stamp and die were added to complete my card. It’s difficult to see the embossing but adds a little more to my “white” space IRL.

Nana’s Butterfly

I choose butterflies! My mother loved butterflies and they have become a symbol of her nearness to me so to my surprise this past week a butterfly drifted past me when I was outside pulling those blasted weeds. One more reminder that my mom and my kids’ Nana will always be with us no matter how many years she has been gone. Now for my card: it was almost all Taylored Expressions products. First the bodies of the butterflies were stamped and clear heat embossed then using the layering stencils to ink from a stamp and stencil Butterfly combo set. Then additional details were added from Butterfly Wishes stamp set, Diamonds Piercing Plate die was used to emboss the butterfly panel, a frame from Frame in Frame 3 cutting plate, sentiment from Boho Sentiments and foiled butterfly from Beautiful Butterflies set. Inks were Gina K Designs Lilac trio and unbranded banner dies complete by butterfly card.

And because of the mood board I needed to use purples.

Boo, two

I was inspired with the fun mood board with The Two Old Bats Halloween challenge to make my card for the May challenge by combining the background tree in one of the panels as well as the pumpkins. So for my card, I stenciled white pigment ink on the SimonSaysStamp In The Round stencil then added some orange, purple and green to some of the dots. Penny Black’s large Dark Spirits tree was stamped and fussy cut eliminating the hanging elements and Recollections Halloween stamp for the two pumpkins also fussy cut, then Taylored Expressions Scripty Boo and backer were added to my card front panel. The lighter green boo was added over the dark green glitter die cut but it was too late for the strip which was glued in place and stuck fast. It was a lot of fussy cutting for that tree that really blended into the background!!!

Two for One

A Gift with Purchase stamp set from Taylored Expressions gave me two cards by stamping and cutting the colored panels in half. The flowers on the colored cardstock was stamped in similar colored inks and some clear star gelly roll highlighting was added to them for a little sparkle. The panels lined up pretty easily after fussy cutting them out. The second card is below:
