So happy that Brooke was able to come for a sleepover and she decided to play with my new stamp set from Unity Stamp Company’s Functioning Chi Chi. This stamp image cracked me up and had a lot of fun watching Brooke create her “more is best’ cards.
Not sure if my cards will be as creative as hers!
Thanks for stopping for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, be safe and stay cool.
A sympathy card for a dear friend who recently lost someone close to her and her husband. My background was embossed with Taylored Expressions Diamond embossing powder and the Star Fall Background stamp. A circle was die cut and I ink blended rainbow clouds using one of my stencils, added a die cut dragonfly and sentiment from a Gina K Designs stamp set that was on my desk and I will hopefully find and file away :).
My card will be shared in a sketch challenge with:
My card today is for our youngest granddaughter who just recently finished her first season of softball. She told her father at the end of her season that she’s not sure if she will play again because it’s a lot of running. The reasoning of a 6 year old!! Both patterned papers were from my stash and they just jumped out at me. I layered both on light blue cardstock and embossed with my much loved swiss dots embossing folder. The bunny batter is from The Cat’s Pajamas and a few added pieces of 3D sticker ephemera.
3 – 2 – 1 GO!!! I haven’t played in the As You See It Challenge in quite sometime but after our Buddy Johanna posted her card it inspired me to play along. This is one of my favorite challenges with this group…..SPEED challenge to make a card in 10 minutes of less.
For my card, I used two stamps from Gina K Designs’s All Occasion Flowers stamp set from the Pocketful of Sunshine card kit inking the stamps in first Sea Glass, the second stamp in Blue Lagoon and repeating the first stamp in Tranquil Teal. Stamped the sentiment in black onyx ink. Then to the Big Shot to die cut my whispy greenery, and the focal panel using AI’s Rectangle A2 Double Stitched die, layered on black cardstock and trimmed it down, then added it to a white card base. Final touch was Taylored Expressions Matte Enamel Dots.
Time: 9 minutes 5 seconds. I will admit that I made this design earlier this week for sympathy cards and liked the way it turned out. The sentiment also has a die but I didn’t think I would have time to stamp and die cut.
Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, be safe and stay cool. Temps are hitting mid 90’s next week so hopefully I can spend more time in my “elf room”.
Aquamarine is the birthstone for March my birth month and has always been a favorite color of mine. My goal is to ink up some sets that have been sitting in bins unused way to long and first up is: Taylored Expressions HedgeHugs Stamp and Layering stencil set. The background stamp was inked in black ink and then the layering stencils for the bodies in two shades of aqua with light handed TE’s Peaches n Cream for the belly and face. This was a cute gift with purchase set from TE in February. Using Waffle Flower A2 layering dies to cut and mat a few panels and a SimonSaysStamps word die for the sentiment will complete my card today.
Wish it was me sitting on one of those adirondack chairs but this card will be saved for a girlfriend’s 70th birthday who loves the ocean and going on island vacations. This will be perfect for her to enjoy, I believe.
Using patterned paper from my stash, I die cut Gina K Designs At the Beach dies for the chairs, stamped the trees and grasses from the Ocean Silhouettes stamp set that was part of GKD’s Vintage Summer card kit as well as the sentiment. Added the soaring gulls and will call this card done. I may have gone a little overboard with the grasses and maybe my trees should have been a little taller but all in all I was happy with the outcome with plans to make another one like this.
A view from the beach, looking out at the ocean, watching the birds flying around and the gorgeous sun is the card for my son this year for Father’s Day. In addition to that and the added Cuttlebug D’vine embossing folder, I will be adding this to the Can You Handle The Pressure challenge. My embossed panel was inked with SimonSaysStamp trio inks by pressing my ink pads in different directions on the panel, then embossed with the D’vine folder. My scene was made with Hero Arts Color Layering Waves, a punched circle for my sun and Spellbinders oval and scalloped nestabilities dies. Sentiment from Gina K Designs Masculine Messages and a bit of twine to complete my card.
I’m making some summer cards in conjuction with a few challenges and today’s card started off with Gina K Designs Sunshine Stencil which was masked off and partially stenciled for a landing spot for my tropical sunglasses. The sunglasses are a Taylored Expressions Shades of Summer stamp set with dies for the glasses.

June’s Halloween card may have a bit more of a Day of the Dead vibe but it was fun to make. I saw the idea on Pinterest and decided to give it a try. I made a copy of the ephemera skull because I didn’t want it in color, added wink of stella for shine, embossed my web and matted it on black cardstock, stamped some foilage around the larger panel and punched flowers and butterflies in shades of grey. The 3d flowers sticker added just the right amount of color to complete my square card.
