Basket of Flowers

Monchromatic stamping on my card today. I was inspired by a recent Gina K Designs YouTube video where she used silhouette stamps however I was looking for a set with a basket and flowers for a challenge when I remembered this GKD set Vintage Summer. This was a card kit from last year. The images and the sentiment font is a fav of mine. I masked off two edges of the focal panel and ink blended ocean mist ink and stamped the bicycle in blue lagoon. A touch of color for the subtle blooms and some wink of stella for shine as well as a few clay embellishments to finish my card. The frame is a Taylored Expressions die set.

My card will be shared with:

Under the Boardwalk

After a day at the beach at the shore, our family would clean up and head the the boardwalk for some shopping for t-shirts and hermit crabs, noise, arcade games and maybe a ride or two describes what USED to be a favorite beach activity. Now, when hubby and I go to the shore the quieter it is the happier we are just watching the ocean and the people…….LOL….

My card today uses an Inkadinkadoo stamp set for my amusement pier and sentiment from a Hero Arts set. I definitely wanted to use this stamp and the idea that formed in my brain and then brain freeze!! So I die cut pieces and layered them to try to make it work.

I will be sharing my card with and just under the deadline:

Baby Girl R

A new grandbaby is one the way for a dear friend so I made this card for the little one. Sage green is a favorite color of mom-to-be and found these two patterns in a The Paper Studio Sweet Pea paper pad that was in my stash, Denami Stamps onesie and rattle as well as a sentiment from a Inkadinkadoo stamp that needed some stamp surgery. The split background was made with Taylored Expressions All Planned Out 1 dies and circle punches from my stash.

I did make a card for the “sprinkle” I and my girlfriends had for mom and baby but forgot to take a photo of it. UGH!

Hot Hello!

Taking inspiration from our Buddy Bonnie’s design team card for a balloon card challenge, I pulled out an older die from Serendipity Stamps. This Hot Air Balloon Reverse die has 5 balloons and 3 clouds on the background die plate. So after a little googling I found a card by Lori Craig who used the die as a stencil. Let’s say I pretty much CASE’d her card however using inks instead of copics in the balloon die cuts. Many pieces of sticky notes later to mask off each section of the balloon, my rainbow hot air balloon was finished. Using a cloud stencil, lightly inked clouds on the focal image layer, embossed clouds on the pink layer and swiped white pigment ink over them…..which I know you cannot really make out…..a piece of rainbow blots designer paper from my desk, a TE easy strip die, and sentiment from GKD’s Up & Away stamp set to complete today’s card.

I will be sharing my card with:

The Sisterhood of Crafters: July 24 – Balloons challenge

It was fun to use an older set from my stash. Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe. Still hot in Pennsylvania and quite frankly I am a little tired about being sweating all the time. Is that too much information? LOL!!! Stay cool.

Fluffin Checks

A new stamp set from Unity “Flock Talk” that tickled my fancy, Cutlebug Pop Culture embossing folder “checked” border which was embossed and then white pigment ink swiped over the top of the embossing and Taylored Expressions Easy Strips 1/4″ Patterns die is what was needed to complete my card today.

Triangle DSP

Diane and Darlene are at it again with a new challenge “Love Those Pretty Papers” challenge. This month’s challenge has an option of Triangle patterned paper designs and easy fun fold triangle cards. I like to play along with the options so I decided on the Triangle designer papers. I think my designer papers were a freebie from somewhere. It is two sided so it worked perfectly for this design by switching two of the triangles around. Taylored Expressions Breezy Boughs Stamp, Stencil and die was used for my focal image, die cut an oval vellum circle to help separate the Simon Says Stamp sentiment from the background.

Snowy Days

Playing along with a Shades of Blue theme hosted by our Buddy Johanna at Cardz 4 Galz and my mind went immediately to snow flakes in various shades of blue. It is easy to get four card fronts with Taylored Expressions Create in Snowflake Quads stencils. The layered stenciling is the easy part trying to add more interest is a little more difficult. My first card uses Sizzix Tim Holtz Santa & sleigh die and the sentiment is from a stamp set from my stash. TE sentiments were added to the next two cards and the last card I added a decorative acetate sheet to my card front and a few snowflakes.

YGB Colors

One stamp and layering stencil = 3 cards in primary colors of Yellow, Green and Blue. My cards are part of Taylored Expressions June 2024 Combo Club release Time to Fly. The stenciled panel was cut into thirds (almost — LOL) ink blended in yellow, green and blue inks. My inks were, to me, close to the Stampin Up colors listed in the challenge. For each card, I stamped the panel in the same color ink as the cardstock and added either wink of stella or a spray of shimmer, cut a few butterflies and added a Gina K Designs sentiment to circle dies.

Butterflies on the Square

I normally do not make a lot of square cards but there is a Taylored Expressions Facebook challenge on their private page to make square cards. My 4-1/4″ square card started out as a 5″ square but the focal panel didn’t look right so I cut the card base down in size. I masked off my focal panel, then added some clouds and Taylored Expressions Aflutter stamp set for the butterflies and sentiment.

My card today will be shared with:

Triple B: Triple B July 2024 Challenge to include Birds, Blooms and/or Butterflies. I once again chose butterflies.
