Jungle Giraffe

It’s a jungle out there!!!! Well this giraffe from an old red rubber mounted stamp from Great Impressions seems to be taking a break amongst the jungle plants. My jungle was die cut using Hero Arts Jungle Fancy Frame die to which I cut the middle out of the die leaving a border. Since it was a nice day with no rain (finally) I ink blended some yellow inks on Tim Holtz Alterations Sizzix sun rays embossing folder. It’s a pretty busy scene so I added a simple Spellbinder’s sentimen in gold shimmer cardstock. I thought the Hi would work because giraffe’s are really tall and can reach the highest branches……lol. The leaves were swiped with wink of stella for some shine that could mimic dew.

My card will be shared with:

Framed Wishes

Today’s card was made using Taylored Expressions Create In Quads Pattern Playground layering stencil, Peace Within dies, Dragon Tales dies and Sending sentiment stamp/die set. Using more masculine ink colors and background image but opted to add the framed leafy branch cut twice, once in the white and offset in a light soft gray cardstock while adding the tiny dragonfly in the frame corner makes this card more gender neutral now and I believe I can use for the guy or the girl. My card will be shared with a new to me challenge and thanks to Buddy Johanna for recommending it to me:

OffSet Gatefold

Today’s card was made using Taylored Expressions Party Pop stencil/3D embossing folder combo. This is part of TE’s Combo Club program for which I signed up. The stenciled/embossed side panel was left over from a card that uses the larger panel for an A2 card. Since the panel was not as wide as needed for the traditional gatefold fun car, I adjusted my folds. The larger panel was embossed. Sentiment is TE’s Ring Around the Words die but cut the circle away from the word die.

My card with the prominent sentiment will be share in:

May’s Lily of the Valley

After running a panel of Gina K Designs Cone Flower Garden poly-glaze foiling sheets through my Fuse laminating machine, I ink blended the panel with GKD orchid ink trios. Taylored Expressions May Lily of the Valley from A Year in Bloom was stamped, lightly colored, die cut and adhered to the focal panel. The TE Feature frame cut and layered 3 times was added to my card. Sentiment is GKD’s Lovely Notes card kit from January 2023. Each month TE adds a free gift with each order and this year the theme is A Year in Bloom. It seemed like the perfect time to use this with the theme for

Color Palette

It was too difficult for me to decide on one color from Colorful Options May 2025 Challenge this month so decided to use the soft rainbow colors on my silhouette scene. The tree line and butterfly are part of Gina K Designs Friendly Silhouettes and a combination of SimonSaysStamp and Taylored Expressions inks. A TE oval masking stencil was used from my ink blending and to stamp my trees however that left side just wouldn’t completely stamp over the stencil so I found a sentiment strip from my stash to try to cover that section.

It was a bit different from the usual color challenge at Colorful Options but fun to play along with them.

This was a collaboration challenge with Park Hopping: My Happy Place but since I did not use a Star Wars or galaxy theme I will only play with Colorful Options.

Our lawn is begging to be mowed after a week of rain, rain and more rain and it will just have to be high for another two days so we can get back on schedule with grass collection service. It is amazing how quickly everything turned green and the plants look like they are on steroids, too. More rain expected mid week but we should be under control by then. Summer Blooms

Embossing folder floral challenge! My card today was made using Taylored Expressions Summer Nights Layering Stencil which was a gift with purchase. An add on die and 3D embossing folder competed my collection for this set. A separate panel was ink blended and splattered with gold and then a second TE Embossing Folder Dots of Diamons was used for a bit more texture. Sentiment is Gina K Designs Sunshine & Love StampTV kit and a few TE Dragon Tales for dragonflies were added to complete my card. This card is going in the mail tomorrow for friends anniversary.

Gold Medal Kicks

A sparkly glittery patterned paper from Parklane’s Patriotic pad is the background for my karate girl image located on line and fussy cut, layered on some circles and a gold rosette. Sentiment is Taylored Expressions. Our youngest granddaughter competed in a karate tournament and ending winning GOLD! This card was mailed to her this past week and will be shared with:

Gatefold Blooms

My gatefold card design uses a double-sided sheet of Creative Imaginations Iron Orchid Designs patterned paper from my stash. The Taylored Epxressions Framed Flowers focal image was stamped, color and die cut with TE’s Arched Stacklets dies.

My card today will be shared with:

Triple B May 2025 Challenge to include Birds, Blooms and/or Butterflies. This month it’s blooms for me.

Two for One

My card today is a two for one or maybe eight for four???? Taylored Expressions Create in Quads Poster Prints layering stencil was used to create my card. The two-fer occurred when I used one sheet of TE’s perforated paper with a piece of plain cardstock underneath it. While stenciling on the perforated paper, some of the ink from the holes goes through to the plain cardstock underneath the perforated sheet. When all layers are inked, I removed the perforated layer, realigned the stencil on the plain cardstock and using the ink on the stencil blended once again. It’s a pretty cool effect but I probably needed to apply more elbow grease as not all of the dots came through to the plain panel. Create in Quads stencils make four card fronts and just need to be cut apart. It was fun to make and have eight card fronts. Also used was TE’s Arch die set, So Many Reasons stamp/die gift with purchase for the sentiment. A subtle background tone on tone was used for the arched background for the perforated card and the second card a Sizzix embossing folder.

My card will be shared with;

May 2025 Stencil Fun Challenge with an optional theme of Bouquets.
