Float into Summer

Awww….to be on a floatie with maybe an umbrella drink in hand seems to be a great way to kick off summer. It was hot enough to imagine myself on this pink flamingo floatie from Stampendous! My rippling waves were created with a Recollections layering stencil. The sentiment was originally stamped directly on the vellum but it got lost in the waves so I stamped on white and fussy cut for an extra pop. The floatie is on an action wobbler, too.

My card today will be shared with the following summer challenges:

The Four Seasons Challenge: Summer Season June 2025

Aqua-Flies

I was quite surprised to find that Michael’s has a new line of layering stencils, embossing folders, stamps and dies. The first thing I decided on was this layering butterfly stencil which lined up quite nicely. The other nice surprise is the June color challenge is Aquablue which is a favorite color of mine too. I pulled out my aquablues and teal inks of which I have a lot to choose from and got started on my card. A touch of yellow was included in my design. Crossstitch rectangle stacklet from Taylored Expressions was added to my background.

My card today will be shared with two of my favorite monthly challenges with their very inspiring mood boards:

Stenciled Summer

Summer and strawberries goes together like summer and watermelon??? LOL! My focal image uses Taylored Expressions Berry Sweet layering stencil & clear stamp combo. My strawberries were ink blended using TE’s “watermelon” ink!!! Get It!!!! My background panel was also ink blended in Watermelon ink on light pink cardstock is also a TE Trendy Triangles stencil. Sentiment is part of the stencil/stamp combo set and the bunch of fussy cut strawberries ( not watermelon ink) were colored with prismacolor pencils with some glossy accents for extra shine was from Gina K’s Enjoy the Sunshine StampTV Kit from many years ago.

With double stenciling with a summer vibe my card will be shared in the:

Pink Hello

I am having a lot of fun with the new Gina K Designs StampTV Kit from May with this Ruffled Blooms stamp, stencil, die and 3D embossing folder set. On my card today I used the 3D embossing folder and the stencils. Not sure why it’s always difficult to add a sentiment but my Hello was an afterthought and glad it worked as I stamped it over the embossed stem to cover a bit of a pink instead of green stem. It is kind of sort of CAS and so I am sharing my card today with:

Simply Clean & Simple June 2025 Challenge with a theme of Pretty Pinks

Ivory, Gold & Lace

Ivory, gold and lace pretty much reminds me of a wedding or an anniversary or maybe just sending love. My patterned paper is from my stash and it seemed to pop out and scream ‘use me‘ so I did. I liked the subtle floral background and a lacey kind of vibe to it. After cutting the panels into 1″ pieces, they were added to a piece of Michael’s Recollections Gold Shimmer cardstock. Thankfully the glue did not adhere too quickly as I removed and replaced these panels a number of times until they seemed to be straight and equally spaced to my eyes. Added a piece of lacey ribbon from my stash, an unbranded die and Gina K Designs love sentiment cut and layered three times.

Framed Blooms

Ivory and kraft! Add a new Gina K Designs Ruffled Blooms stamp, die, and 3D embossing folder along with a Hero Arts Wood Frame Infinity die to complete my card today.

Double D Challenges: Frames theme

I did make a little twist in this challenge by putting my frame behind my focal image.

Wicked legs

I always try to find inspiration and use the mood board when playing in challenges and this month I was immediately drawn to the striped legs and red shoes image. Who wouldn’t want legs like that? I located my Colorado Craft Company Lovely Legs Sitting Witch stamp and die and got started. The sentiment is from the same set this card may fit better with a slimline card, however, I am not the biggest fan of those and prefer the more traditional size.

Summer Waves

9 minutes and 14 seconds start to finish for my card today with a water theme. If it’s not raining, it is summertime hot and humid so I felt the need for an ocean shoreline scene for some cool serenity. Using Taylored Expressions Sandy Shores split background stamp everything was aligned in my Misti removing the sand (bottom portion) and inking the ocean water with TE’s cookie monster ink which stamped so nicely on the first try. Then putting the sand portion in place and removed the top part and stamped in TE’s toffee ink. This was a little more splotchy at first so inked it twice. Next came my silhouette images which are a Gina K Designs go to Vintage Summer card kit Ocean Silhouettes set for me. Once again thank goodness for the Misti, aligned the bottom silhouette portion, then added a sentiment and the gulls stamping all in Versafine Black Onyx and decided to add one more silhouette palm tree for balance. Thank goodness my inky fingers didn’t make a mess on my image which was adhered to a kraft card base. If I had a bit more time, I would have added a bit of splatter. It’s always fun to play along with the Speed Challenge at:

As You See It Challenge: Challenge #349 Rapid Water

Thanks, Johanna, for the reminder and inspiration for this challenge. Also thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care, stay safe and now stay cool!!!

Nutcracker!!

I was inspired by our Buddy Gerry to add some Christmas cards to my stash and then needed to take a page out of her book and search for an online nutcracker image. I searched quickly through my Christmas stamps and supplies and was quite surprised that I did not locate a nutcracker so off to the free on line coloring pages. After resizing this nutcracker, coloring, die cutting with a Gina K double stitched rectangle die, I adhered it to a piece of Recollection Christmas Plaids paper pack and mounted on a piece of kraft cardstock. Sentiment is a red rubber wood mounted Studio G stamp that was more than likely purchased from a ACMoore many, many years ago.

My card today will be shared with:

Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge #88 and their fabulous nutcracker mood board.
