Hot Hello!

Taking inspiration from our Buddy Bonnie’s design team card for a balloon card challenge, I pulled out an older die from Serendipity Stamps. This Hot Air Balloon Reverse die has 5 balloons and 3 clouds on the background die plate. So after a little googling I found a card by Lori Craig who used the die as a stencil. Let’s say I pretty much CASE’d her card however using inks instead of copics in the balloon die cuts. Many pieces of sticky notes later to mask off each section of the balloon, my rainbow hot air balloon was finished. Using a cloud stencil, lightly inked clouds on the focal image layer, embossed clouds on the pink layer and swiped white pigment ink over them…..which I know you cannot really make out…..a piece of rainbow blots designer paper from my desk, a TE easy strip die, and sentiment from GKD’s Up & Away stamp set to complete today’s card.

I will be sharing my card with:

The Sisterhood of Crafters: July 24 – Balloons challenge

It was fun to use an older set from my stash. Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe. Still hot in Pennsylvania and quite frankly I am a little tired about being sweating all the time. Is that too much information? LOL!!! Stay cool.

  1. Beautiful balloon! Always a joy to use the older items in the stash and in a new way brings them back to life.

  2. What a fun colorful card. Using the die for a stencil was a great idea. I like that rainbow blots designer paper.

  3. Well this was obviously a lot of work, but so worthwhile. You did great with the design and your pp is just right.

  4. I bet it took forever to get all those beautiful colors in the balloon. It looks fantastic! The whole card is a beautiful, bright, smile bringing creation.
