Adding a masculine birthday card to my stash, I decided to focus on the word sentiment with the SimonSaysStamp Chunky Happy word die. I cut some strips of “scrap” 65 lb cardstock and glued it to a piece of copy paper then die cut the sentiment from the stripes, die cut the outline again from the pale blue cardstock and die cut the shadow from a sand colored cardstock. The layering panel was splattered with gold and brown inks/paints and for good measure a perfect pearls spray too. Of course all of that warped my card pretty badly and the ivory cardstock base was not of the heaviest weight but I think adding an inner panel of some better weight will help balance the weight. After adhering the word die, cut apart a sentiment strip and added a few enamel dots to complete my card.
I will be sharing my card today with:
Thanks for stopping in for a peek. I appreciate you and your time. Take care and be safe.

Love how you created your striped paper from scraps for your die cut. Fun background, too!
Very clever way to create your own striped paper. Great masculine card.
Good eye for color with a fella in mind
Love the striped paper. Always good to have some cards on hand for the guys.
Thanks, Judy, I need to make some more as Will’s birthday is coming up in May.
Wonderful masculine card. The large happy looks like a good one for men.
Thanks, Lisa, I liked the simplicity of it.
This is a wonderful card for anyone. I really like it.
