Fright Night

Last month’s Halloween card project was a rainbow of pumpkins but this month it’s back to a more traditional Halloween fright night card. I started with some Brutus Monroe Color Burst powders sprayed with some water, added more powders, sprayed with water until I told myself to walk away. Today, I cut a circle mask and blended with a combination of Distress Oxide Inks, removed the outer mask and put the circle mask in place to add inks to the outer edges as well as some black soot. The tree and the border are the same stamp set from Gina K Designs’ The Giving Tree. Sentiment is from an old dollar bin stamp set from my stash. I added a little green layer behind the focal panel that was sprayed with some Distress Mica Stain.

Today’s card will be shared with multiple Halloween challenges:

  1. WHat a great effect you got with all your layering of color. I have heard many times, don’t stop till your happy, even if it looks like a hot mess, one more addition might do the trick.

  2. Fabulous card. The tree with the background gives a really spooky effect and using the tree for the border is the perfect touch.

  4. Hello my friend … just wanted to let you know that WordPress is giving me trouble. It won’t let me come to your blog via your entry into our challenge blogs any longer. Keeps saying I don’t have an account but obviously I do! I have spent all morning trying to figure this out but the only thing I’ve come up with so far is I did figure out how to follow you and have come here through the Communication tab. SO if I you don’t see me commenting on your challenge entries, it’s not because I don’t want to! Not sure why this is happening and hopefully it will correct itself soon … what a PITA! LOL

    1. Thanks for letting me know Darlene. I actually had trouble posting some of my recent challenge entries too.

  5. This is a fabulous background and with the rest of your design elements added make for a very cool and spooky card. A winner in my eyes.

  6. Love the background you created behind the tree, it gives it gives such an eery feeling to your card! Thanks for joining us at Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge!
